It was a long day, and Peter decided to take a break from researching. He minimized all of the browser tabs on his computer and picked up his phone.
Ned just posted a short video on his Instagram account. He discussed some things he hated about Boston in contrast to things he missed about New York. MJ chimed in, and she called him a 'drama queen'. Peter laughed. He missed them so much. If only things didn't end up this way…
While trying to tap the comment section button, Peter's thumb slipped and accidentally pressed Ned's profile picture, which got a purple ring around it.
"Shit! Shitshitshitshit. Oh no…"
Peter scrambled and panicked, trying to get out of that screen. But instead, he—again—accidentally clicked the heart icon on one of the updates and kept going to Ned's next Instagram stories.
A picture of food, then Ned's selfie, followed by Ned's selfie with MJ, then a picture of projects he had been working on…
Peter sighed. Well, that definitely made him look like a stalker.
Not that he had been keeping tabs on Ned's social media accounts anyway.
(Peter checked at least five times a day.)
Ned was sitting on the couch together with MJ. Some uneventful stuff was happening on the show that they were watching, but they tried to enjoy it anyway because they both had a rough week from their assignments. Hanging out together after class was the only way they could unwind in this chilly Boston evening.
The commercial breaks came, and Ned grabbed his phone. He wanted to see how many people had seen his Instagram stories.

The account had no profile picture, besides the blank, default gray silhouette. That heart icon next to the profile caught Ned's eyes. He furrowed his eyebrows.
"Hey, do you know whose account this is?" Ned nudged MJ with his elbow.
MJ looked down to his phone. She frowned.
"Hm... I don't know. Maybe just some rando stalker?"
Ned clicked on the profile. Zero posts. No bio, no followers, nothing. Very typical for a burner account, but—
"Who do you think would want to stalk me?"
MJ shrugged. "Your enemies, maybe? Or your fans."
Ned snorted and shook his head. "People are so weird, man."
"Well, about that…" MJ looked over at Ned's personal coding project that had been on his laptop screen the whole day.
The output of the app's interface appeared at the side of the screen. There was a whole lot of Spider-Man-related stuff in there. She gave Ned a smirk and gestured her hand to his laptop on the desk.
Ned looked very offended.
"That is different!"
