Summary
Eddie's never been normal. Especially not since the Summer of 1972, when his mother died and his father dropped him off at some experimental facility and split. And it doesn't help that when he shows back up on Wayne's porch three years later, he's sporting fangs and a fresh sensitivity to sun. Growing up in Hawkins, Indiana was hard enough, but his new found vampirism didn't help.
Then comes Halloween of '84, where Billy Hargrove practically bullies his way into Eddie's space in the kitchen at Tina's party in search of weed, loud and flashy, with eyes so pretty and a grin so bright that it makes Eddie's heart nearly skip a beat. And to Eddie's surprise and delight, Billy seems just as enamored with him. What starts as a simple need for a joint, turns into an intense friendship that Eddie didn't realize he was missing in his life.
And then everything changes one night when Billy crawls through Eddie's window, bloody and drunk, and Eddie's hunger gets the best of him.
