Summary
Roy Kent has rules for everything. Unfortunately, Jamie Tartt has spent years being the exception.
When Roy benches Jamie before a match he should be starting, the argument that follows drags a lot more than one bad team sheet into the open. There was the twelve-week affair neither of them ever really got over. Manchester. Richmond. The lines Roy kept drawing because he thought they were safer. The things Jamie kept pretending didn’t hurt.
Now Roy is Jamie’s manager, Jamie is no longer twenty-three, and both of them are running out of ways to call whatever this is anything other than what it has always been.
