Chapter Text
It’s almost 3:00 which means it’s almost time for Eri to head home from school for the day. Eri loves school; her teacher is really nice, she’s making lots of new friends, and she doesn’t get picked on for her horn.
School is a good place, and tomorrow is going to be even better!
“Okay, my friends!” the teacher, Miss Tomozawa, clapped to get everyone's attention. “You’ve all done such a great job today and I am very proud of you all. The decorations look perfect! I can’t wait to meet everyone’s moms tomorrow!” Eri really likes Miss Tomozawa. She’s always smiling and telling them how good they’re doing. It’s a nice change from how she grew up.
“But Miss Tomozawa!” a kid in the back raised his hand. “What if you don’t have a mom? Like me and Eri.”
Eri whipped around immediately.
“I do too have a mom! Ma-cchan is the best mom in the world!”
“Do not!”
“Do too! You’ll see tomorrow!”
“Fine!”
“Fine!”
“Okay woah there.” Miss Tomozawa stepped in. “Everyone settle down. Kyo-chan, it’s not nice to make assumptions about other people’s lives. If Eri says she has someone to bring, then she does. Everyone’s families look different, and that’s just fine.”
The bell rang and everyone went running to their buses, the call of “See you tomorrow!” from their teacher ringing out.
Eri puffed up, very excited to bring the bestest mom any of her classmates has ever seen to their Mother’s Day party tomorrow.
They won’t know what hit them. Possibly, literally hitting them.
On the other side of town, Izuku watches fondly as his ridiculous boyfriend drives himself crazy about the elementary school Mother’s Day party he’s promised to attend tomorrow.
“Deku!” Katsuki hollered, ignoring the fact that his boyfriend is sitting literally three feet away from him. “Where’s the goddamn diaper bag?”
Izuku snickered at the blond’s antics.
“Kacchan, they’re in 4th grade. I doubt you’ll need a diaper bag.”
“Then where else am I supposed to put all this shit?”
“Your backpack would be fine. Besides, I’m sure the school will have whatever you’ll need for this party anyways. They do it every year, right?” Hopefully the use of reasoning will help ground the man.
“Hell no. I talked to the frog about what her kid siblings liked, and rounded up everything I could think of from the girl. I’m gonna have these other moms die of shame from my abilities. I’m gonna kill Mother’s Day.” …. Or maybe not.
“What do you even have in there, Kacchan? It looks like a lot.”
“All the essentials to make Eri happy. I got nailpolish, hair clips, candy, and stickers. Mother’s Day won’t know what hit it. And neither will all those other brats.”
God help this poor teacher.
