Summary
The war is over, and Hermione Granger is returning to Hogwarts for her Eighth Year alongside several of her old classmates. Her best friends, however, have chosen not to return and are busy training to become Aurors, leaving her to fend for herself, though a part of her likes it that way. She's numb, processing the trauma from having lived through the war and finding out about her parents' death.
