Nyaho! This is my crossover fic of TCF and COTHE.

I would like to honor this to @raych who cursed me to become a writer around *checking my inbox* ... last November. *whisper* I hope the Fairy of Imagination possess you in a sweet dream. Like mine.

Anyways, as I mention at the summary, this fic was inspired by Holy Prince by abistmpst on Wattpad. Please support and take a look at their stories!

I will give a heavy spoiler warning for the TCF novel at the beginning of this chapter, because most people usually skip author's notes (it's me. I’m the people lol). Please enjoy!

『 God do not perish. 』

Cale knows that.

『 Use [Embrace]. 』

『 [Embrace] Him in here. 』

『 … this book is my domain. 』

Cale was already running with the open book in his hand.

『 … unless you let Him out, the Sealed God will not be able to do anything in my domain for the rest of eternity. 』

Well, it’s good that the book has finally become useful.

Bang, bang! Bang!

Booooooooooooooom!

His whole body hurt from being caught by the sculpture’s forceful grips in its multiple hands after he told Mary to pull back her [Dead Mana] threads.

Cale quietly whispered to the sculpture of the Sealed God on the wall.

“I’ll do as you wish.”

The sculpture hands instantly let him go, but Cale grabbed one of it with one hand. The pages of the black book in his other hand quickly start to turn and let out an odd color.

It was pitch black.

It was the color of darkness.

“I guess even [Embrace] is different for divine items.” Cale mumbled to himself while watching the darkness wrap around him.

Swoosh–

Wind gathered around Cale’s feet and he kicked off the ground. He then stepped on the altar and shot up.

Cale made eye contact with the sculpture engraved on the wall.

“Let's end this.”

Cale used [Embrace].

However, the Sealed God was not [Embraced] immediately.

The God of Despair let out a mysterious [Aura], as if He was playing his final card, and tried to push Cale away.

‘No, He’s trying to swallow me.’

The feeling of falling and powerlessness tried to seep into him.

Cale immediately realized that falling into these two feelings would allow the Sealed God to control him even if he managed to [Embrace] Him successfully.

‘This must have been the scheme the Sealed God had in store when making that deal with me.’

He also immediately understood the Sealed God’s original plan when He offered a good will to work together with Cale inside the wrath test.

However, it would be difficult for the God of Despair’s plan to work.

Another god’s item was here right now.

Shhhhhh-

The darkness surrounding the God of Death’s divine item and the formless red [Aura] flowing out of the sculpture were clashing against each other.

Death was trying to pull the Sealed God into His domain.

The darkness surrounding the divine item and Cale was protecting him while swallowing the Sealed God’s [Aura].

Cale felt his breathing was slowly getting heavier. His hands are shaking more and more.

He had never felt like this while [Embracing] the White Star, the fake World Tree, nor anything else. It was different from the [Embrace] he used in the past that had ended quickly.

‘It's so much that it feels like it is going to overflow.’

Baaaang!

The sound of the two gods' powers clashing echoed in his ear.

The quiet clashes were getting louder.

Baaaang! Bang! Baaaang!

Cale's ears started ringing and his head started hurting. It felt as if something was ringing nonstop inside his head.

The God of Despair realized that His plan to control Cale Henituse became more difficult.

But the Sealed God grinned as He thought that adding one more additional gift didn’t seem to be a bad idea, since the crazy red hair chose a rather violent way to reject Him earlier.

⋇⋆✦⋆⋇

“Human!”

Cale heard Raon’s voice at that moment.

“The situation?”

Ohn, who had come with Raon, explains that the red liquid-light bomb seems to be too difficult for the dragons and Rosalyn to handle because it swallows their [Mana].

Cale closed his eyes.

‘Will that red light disappear even if I [Embrace] the Sealed God like this? What if it doesn’t?’

.

.

Well, he just had to prepare for the what-ifs.

“Ohn, head to the Forest of Darkness.”

He lowered his shaking voice as much as possible as he spoke.

“Once you’re there–”

It was at that moment.

Boom–!

“Ugh!”

He felt as if he would throw up.

– He’s resisting more than I expected. I may need to use a little more power. Will you be okay?

Cale heard the familiar voice of the God of Death echoing in his mind. It sounds murky and heavy with a hint of annoying high note.

Was it this difficult to use a divine item to hear a god's voice?

He cast aside multiple thoughts in his mind and nodded his head.

‘Yes! Use it, use it! I'll persist.’

Cale was quite confident in his ability to persist.

The God of Death did not respond. Instead, Cale felt the darkness surrounding him becoming even thicker.

Furthermore, his hand was now shaking for a different reason.

Death.

He could clearly feel it.

Cale realized that he needed to quickly get the children averaging nine years old to move away from here. The others as well.

“B-”

He could not speak properly.

“Bring it here!”

He barely managed to open his mouth to say that as he needed to clench his hands that were holding the divine item. Otherwise, he might just let it go because of this aura of death.

‘I’ve been wondering whether he really was a god, but I guess it’s true.’

Cale was feeling something omnipotent that made him feel as if he couldn’t defeat a god in a battle.

“Raon! Go to the Forest of Darkness with me! You too, Hong!”

Cale started to smirk as he heard Ohn’s voice that urged Raon and Hong to go to the Forest of Darkness. She's such a clever girl who can understand properly about this task, as he expected.

‘Yes, go bring it.’

They need to bring the Black Castle – or more precisely, an existence who couldn’t leave that castle.

Raon’s mom, the Former Dragon Lord, Sheritt.

Her Dragon Attribute – [Protection], as a shield-shaped power would be stronger than using [Mana] barriers to stop the red light.

'I’m sure they’ll bring the castle back. All that’s left now is… [Embracing] this motherfucking son of a bitch of a god!’

Cale took a deep breath, opened his eyes, and scanned his surroundings.

Baaaaaaang! Baaaaaaang!

The clash between the auras was getting intense.

‘What do I need to do in this situation to efficiently take care of this issue and place myself in an advantageous position?’

He heard a faint voice of [Super Rock] in his mind at that moment. His voice was shouting as if asking Cale to recognize his presence, that voice sounded as if it was coming from a distance.

But Cale had heard it properly though.

– Marble is a kind of stone too!

'Ah.’

The Scary Giant Cobblestone, explains with a clearer voice after Cale got a picture of his strategy.

– Earlier, using the power of the [Super Rock] would have been useless because the god’s dominance over the temple was too strong. However, most of that god’s [Aura] that had been in the marble had gathered in front of the sculpture now!

‘Ah.’

Cale immediately realized what had happened. The Sealed God was using everything in the temple to clash against the God of Death.

– Aim for that opening.

Cale was planning on doing as the Scary Giant stated. However, Cale had never used his Ancient Powers while using [Embrace] Ability together before. Unfortunately, it was finally time for him to do that right now.

“Will y-you be o-okay?”

He asked in a shaking voice and the [Super Rock] responded.

– If it is not attacking nor defending and just putting rocks or boulders under you, it won’t take much strength. But I think it would be better if you added something… The [Dominating Aura]! Use that with me!

But just as Cale was about to channel his Ancient Powers, the statue of the God of Despair opened his mouth.

Crack.

Oooong!

A small black hole surrounded with the red [Aura] appeared between the statue and Cale.

– FUCK THAT DAMNED SCUMBAG OF MOTHERFUCKER!

Cale widened his eyes at the same time the God of Death cursed loudly inside his head.

– Cale! That bastard is trying to summon a Demon King from that Gate! Crazy fucker! He dares to risk this?!

“... f-fuck.”

Cale cursed shakingly after the God of Death explained the Sealed God’s new plan.

Demon Races are one of beings who worship the God of Despair. If the Demon King accepts the order from their god to fight all of them here and use their powers, the Divine race must intervene and might descend to join the war fighting the Demon.

The God of Despair really wants to bring endless desperation to them and make this war longer with the involvement of Demon and Divine beings.

Cale hurriedly thought of multiple plans in panic. He cannot let that bastard succeed in the summoning.

“Cale-nim!”

Choi Han, Mary, and Clopeh shout when they see the dangerous red hole that looks like it’s going to attack their Liege in the face.

Ooooong– Pats!

The God of Despair’s statue shook when it suddenly shut its mouth like it was kicked in the chin and made the summon Gate disappear with a spark.

‘Ah?’ Cale gaped dumbfoundedly to what he just witnessed.

'What just happened??’

– Holy–! T-the summon failed!

The God of Death exclaimed inside his head.

– … Kheh, ahaha! Oh, this is priceless! I can’t believe that the Demon rejected Him! Eat that you bastard! Even your strongest followers would rather prioritize their own self! Kiek!

The god continues to laugh with a hint of madness glee in His voice. His [Aura] that comes out from the black book becomes darker and bigger.

“Ha!” Cale let out a short laugh after he connected the dot with the God of Death’s maniacal laugh.

He recalled what the vampire Duke Fredo told him about the Demon race before.

“The Demonic race want to turn this Natural World into their land. Furthermore, they want the Demonic race to run freely on this land.”

Fredo stared at Cale, then sternly rejected when Cale asked if the White Star wanted to open the Gate to the Demon World.

“The Demonic race simply desires this land, they have no desire to fight a battle of life and death with the Divine race.”

Because the moment the Gate to the Demon World is opened, the Divine World would notice it. And if they were to fight, both sides would receive serious damage.

That might be why the Demon King rejected the summoning Gate to this world just now. Even if the one who called for them is the being they worship, the situation is simply unfavorable for their race.

Cale would like to join the God of Death’s lunatic laugh right now, but he is too busy being relieved and shakes from being squeezed between two [Auras] of these crazy gods.

– Cale! This is a chance! Hurry use your Ancient Powers before He does something crazier!

The [Super Rock] shouted urgently to him.

Cale comes to his senses. But just as he was about to do what the Giant asked – again, he suddenly felt a presence on his back.

‘Hm? Who?’

Cale felt something warm – almost hot, touching his shoulders.

And then,

YANK!

“Guh!”

– Huh? Huh?! What?!

– What’s happening?!

– The hell–! Who’s fire is this?! That’s certainly not Cheapskate's!

The Ancient Powers are getting agitated by the sudden situation.

‘Urk! What are they trying to do?!’

He felt as if his soul was being sucked and burned from within at the same time.

– Look! That god is getting pulled too!

It was true.

The [Aura] of the Sealed God was slowly getting sucked in quicker pace toward God of Death’s black book that Cale held in front him.

Cale narrowed his eyes, but continued to channel his [Super Rock] and [Dominating Aura] powers. The cold and heat around him felt uncomfortable, but.

‘It doesn’t matter. Let's deal with that fucking god first.’

⋇⋆✦⋆⋇

Boom–

“Cale-nim!”

Clopeh, who was kneeling in a corner of the temple, flinched when he felt some presence amidst the intense [Auras] of the two clashing gods. A mysterious rumbling also spread throughout the temple from underneath Cale’s feet.

“... Cale-nim.”

Choi Han – who had been standing closest to Cale since Ohn, Hong, and Raon teleported away while supporting Mary on his side – was the first who felt a faint but familiar aura that slowly started to spread throughout the entire temple.

It was an aura that made him recall the back of someone who always looked as if he would fall but did not crumble until the end.

It was a stoic yet warm aura filled with a sense of reliability that made it so that they could persist and survive no matter what it took.

And yet, Choi Han cannot stand the dread and annoyance that sticks on his chest due to the many things he lacks to protect his Liege and their family.

Choi Han could not see Cale because he was surrounded by darkness, but he could not release his grip on his sword even when it began to bleed.

He was sure that person, undoubtedly, must be puking blood again.

⋇⋆✦⋆⋇

Drip.

Of course he is.

Cale smiled as a single strand of blood dripped down from his mouth with the feverish look on his skin from the cold and burning sensation that surrounded him.

‘It works.’

This was working.

His Ancient Powers were taking over the temple at a speed that increased at a steady pace. The temple rumbled for a different reason now.

Bang! Baaaang!

The noise of the gods clash lessened as well.

The God of Despair’s [Aura] roared as if it was raging and anxious.

‘If it was like this…!’

Cale’s eyes clouded over.

He was certain that he would be able to [Embrace] the Sealed God in a little bit. Still, why does it feel like someone is nagging him on his back…?

– Cale!

The Scary Giant Cobblestone anxiously shouted at that moment.

‘Hmm?’

Cale wondered why the [Super Rock] was acting like this when things were in his favor.

– That presence… They had been shouting something non stop since you started using me!

– Ah? I don't know, Hyungnim… for some reason, I feel myself agreeing with that presence?

The Crybaby of [Vitality of the Heart] replied to the Scary Giant.

‘Ha? What kind of nonsense are they talking about?’

[Super Rock] spoke again with bewilderment.

– … Y, you– Cale, your presence is even stronger than dragons now… Haa, just what did the World Tree give to this kid? Is it even possible to take over the temple like this?

‘Hmm? … Stronger than dragons? What… then…’

Cale got the chills for a different reason.

It was at that moment.

Booooooom–!

His insides rumbled intensely and Cale subconsciously curled forward.

“Ugh!”

– Good job. This is the last time. Though, I would like to know who is our little helper here…?

Cale heard the God of Death’s voice as he watched the darkness surrounding him overwhelming the sculpture of the God of Despair.

“Ahhhhhhhh—!”

A sorrowful scream burst out of the sculpture.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh—!”

They couldn't see who was screaming, but everybody covered their ears.

Craaaaaaack!

The wall with the sculpture started cracking.

Everybody in the temple subconsciously flattened themselves on the floor.

Death.

An aura that felt omnipotent filled the area.

It was such a suffocating aura that they felt as if they would faint if they did not lean on the warmth on the temple floor.

The moment that aura filled the whole area...

“Ugh!”

The chilling scream ended with a groan.

Cale, who could not cover his ears as he was holding the divine item, stumbled because the intense noise made his head ring.

He barely managed to remain standing without falling and quietly gasped.

“Ah.”

He lifted his head up.

He could feel it.

He could feel the Sealed God being sucked into the book in his hand.

He could see the sculpture on the wall and the statue of the extremely handsome person, being sucked into the black book.

The benevolent and handsome face of the statue had changed to look like a screaming devil.

Shaaa!

Cale ignored the blood by his mouth and smiled.

The sculpture on the wall was gone.

Instead, the image of the sculpture was visible on a page of the open black book.

Cale moved both hands.

Tap!

He closed the black book.

He could clearly feel that his [Embrace] into the divine item had worked and that the Sealed God was now imprisoned in the God of Death's domain.

Fwosh.

A wave of red-black fire burped out from between the pages of the closed book.

“Cale-nim!”

Cale's body stumbled.

Then everything goes dark.

.

.

.

⋇⋆✦⋆⋇

“Ugh.”

Cale felt something chilly on his cheek. No, he felt his whole body hurt like being roughly stretched from left and right. This is… a bit absurd? He was fine a minute ago.

Slowly, his mind began to wake up.

The last thing he remembered… He just closed the book that imprisoned the Sealed God with his [Embrace] and then… he fainted?

‘Did I overwork my power that much?’

But why was he seated with his face down on a cold table? Well, he hopes it was a cold table.

“The fuck…?”

‘Am I dreaming? But my whole body felt sore?’

Cale is really not sure if he is unconscious or not.

Tap.

“My Child! You’re finally up!”

Cale heard something being placed on the table before he felt someone hug his side. Cale of course, instantly kicked Him.

“Gyooh!”

What a pathetic god.

“Haah…”

Cale let out a deep sigh before opening his eyes. He slowly lifted his body and saw that his cheek had been on a glass tabletop.

He raised his head to see a typical office setting.

It was quite similar to an office Cale had seen in a drama when he was still Kim Roksoo.

There were cabinets and all sorts of office equipment you would normally see in a company office. However, there were only two desks here; the one Cale was seated at and the slightly bigger desk opposite Cale that seemed to be for a superior.

‘I can't see outside.’

All of the windows had black curtains closed so that he could not look out.

Cale looked down.

He could smell a sweet fragrance coming from the mug.

This was obviously hot cocoa.

Cale looked up again and turned to the side. His mouth opened and a casual voice flowed out.

“God?”

The one who got called was busy letting out some fake sob.

“You kicked me and talked so informally to me… sniff. Well, I guess you do have no reason to speak nicely to me…”

Cale looked up and down at the god whose appearance was over 1.9 m tall. He wears a pair of sweater and khakis that made Cale think about the fashion of Earth.

The God of Death’s white hair, bronze skin, muscular body, and black eyes would make him look very dashing… if not for His face that looks stressed. And… is that burnt mark at the tip of his hair?

Cale decided to shove that observation aside before starting to speak.

“Why am I here? What's the situation outside?”

The god paused His fake sob for a moment and tilted His head.

“Well, that… First, it’s been two months since the war ended and you successfully [Embrace] the Sealed God to my domain.”

‘Two months?!’

“What about the red orb?!” Cale asked the urgent question about the red eye of the God of Despair that’s going to explode and kill everyone in Puzzle city.

“It’s alright. Raon comes back in time with the Black Castle. Sheritt-nim and everyone else were doing their best protecting themselves. Nobody died from that bomb…”

Cale relaxed the tension on his body hearing that news.

“That’s good.”

He slumped with relief.

“Then? What else do you want to tell me? You’ve never called me to this kind of place until now. Always just say whatever the hell you want.”

The God of Death wet His lips and smiled awkwardly.

“W-well, there are a few things I need to tell you. Unfortunately, some of them are under restriction and require the consent of few people.”

“Consent?”

Cale wondered who would have the power to affect the actions of a god.

“Are you talking about other gods?”

“Our Cale truly is smart.”

“Don't talk like we are close.”

“Ahem. Hem.”

The God of Death looked away after seeing Cale's calm but annoyed gaze.

“I need consent from gods and some others. They are all pretty strict with the rules, but they gave their consent this time.”

The god's calm eyes looked at Cale.

“Because of your merits.”

“The Sealed God?”

“Yes. We were able to seal the Sealed God properly thanks to you.”

The god's eyes were completely black without any specks of light. Cale looked into the black eyes that suited the name of death before calmly asking.

“Is the Sealed God unable to come out into the world anymore?”

“Yes. Thanks to you.”

Cale finally leaned back on the chair.

Tap, tap.

His hand tapped the armrest of his chair.

“Well, I guess I did want to chat with you at least once too.”

Cale's firm gaze was focused on the God of Death.

“The Hunters. What the hell are they trying to do? What those shitheads have anything to do with me– no, the people around me?”

Cale thought that he might as well ask since he was meeting with a god.

“Do the people around me... have to fight again?”

The God of Death observed the sharp gaze on Cale's face that looked a bit tired.

His expression falls.

“Huuuuuu… You don’t have to worry about that. Now it’s all depends on whatever they want to–”

Suddenly, at that moment.

Crack!

There was the sound of something breaking and the light on the office ceiling turned off.

‘What the hell?’

The office light turned back on just as Cale frowned.

“Ah, this is awkward.”

The God of Death looked extremely awkward and more pale, His face had looked worse than stressed like before. Cale's eyebrows slightly rose up at this instant change in complexion.

The god then started speaking with a serious expression on his face as if he had made up his mind about something.

“To be completely honest with you... Cale Henituse. I want to help you. That is the truth. I think there is a lot I need to repay you for everything you have done. Of course, there are many others I feel the same about as well. Haaaa.”

The god looked extremely tired as He let out that short sigh.

However, there was a more intense emotion than fatigue visible in His eyes.

‘... Mm.’

Cale thought that it looked like obsession or lunacy. The god must have noticed Cale's expression as He calmed down and continued speaking.

“And to be even more specific... I hate the Hunters.”

Crack, crack.

There were some odd noises before the ceiling light flickered again.

“Mm.”

The God of Death stopped talking and took a breath. He then looked back at Cale and continued speaking.

“That is why a part of me wants to drag you into this, so that you can help me.”

Tap, tap.

Cale tapped the armrest again and opened his mouth.

“... That's quite honest. Pffft.”

Cale couldn't help but chuckle.

The God of Death had brought Kim Roksoo to this world and [Transmigrated] him into Cale Henituse's body. As a result, Kim Roksoo was able to live a new life as Cale in this world.

However, this god had also transported Choi Han and Choi Junggun who are [Single-lifers] into this world.

‘He's not a good guy.’

However, He did not lie.

He did hide some things, but He did not lie.

That god was turning even paler as He continued speaking.

“However, now there are things I should clearly tell you.”

Flash-flash.

The flashing of the light was getting quicker.

Crack. Crack.

The sound of something being swallowed was getting louder.

“I have no thoughts about dragging you in from here on. I have no thoughts about doing anything to you… Afterall, I’ve failed to keep my end of the deal.”

Cale snaps and tries to understand what the God of Death was trying to say.

“What deal are you talking about?!”

“I'm sorry, my punishment might start instantly if I told you now.”

The god shows regret on His face.

Cale stares at Him and asks his conclusion.

“But you are saying that someone or something other than you may get involved with me – or those around me, to drag us in?”

The God of Death looked pained from getting that question.

“... they won't get involved again… for now.”

‘Hah?’

The god was about to say something else, but closed His mouth for a moment.

Drip.

A black liquid flowed out of the god's mouth.

Cale observed this before speaking.

“Ha. Even gods live such difficult lives. Why are there so many things you cannot say?”

He was grumbling with annoyance.

“The World Tree couldn't tell me everything either. I guess gods are similar?”

He glanced aside and waved his hand to the god.

“You can stop there.”

“Mm.”

The God of Death hesitated before nodding His head. The sound echoing through the office and the flickering lights all disappeared.

The corners of Cale's lips curled up in the now peaceful office.

“Huff, you have something you want to give me, right?”

The God of Death felt iffy at the fact that Cale was smirking without pushing the matter, but He decided to answer his question to distract him.

“Mm, ah. Since the cintamani was destroyed, it should be replaced with another item. Though, delivering it… would take some time. Now, I’ll tell you something I’ve long prepared for all your troubles.”

‘Hm?’

Cale looks at the God of Death.

“... this meeting and the item to replace the cintamani weren't my rewards?”

“The item to replace the cintamani is an obvious reward since the cintamani was destroyed. This meeting…”

The god chuckled.

“What kind of reward would it be for you to meet with me? You couldn't even get any proper information. But your main reward would follow you after this.”

Clap.

He lightly clapped.

“You can listen to the things I am about to say from here on because I received consent to tell you these things. Maybe you could consider this as your bonus? Hm, anyway…”

He continues with a nonchalant tone.

“Lee Soohyuk has been reborn into the Nameless 1 world.”

‘... What? What did He just say?’

The god smirked at Cale’s expression before continuing to speak.

“Heh, you look shocked. You see, Lee Soohyuk is not a Tribulator– umm, he is not a [Single-lifer]. That's why he needs a new life.”

Souls other than those of Exceptions, like [Single-lifers] and [Immortals]; or Variables, such as [Regressors], [Reincarnators], and [Transmigrators]; will be reborn after death as a pure soul into a new body on a different world, without their past memories.

However, Cale could not think about such information right now.

“... Team Leader… is going to be… no, he has been reborn… in Nameless 1?”

A lot of unexplainable emotions and thoughts were filling Cale's mind.

Lee Soohyuk was one of the few people he had considered his family, other than his parents.

‘I can see him again?’

“And Lee Soohyuk has earned some merits regarding this Sealed God incident.”

“... Merits?”

Cale, who barely managed to snap back to his senses, asked the god who calmly responded.

“Yes. Lee Soohyuk has been helping me with things. Most importantly…”

A gentle smile appeared on the god's face.

“Lee Soohyuk was the one who gave you [Embrace]. He gave his Ability to you. You were able to use that power to seal the sealed god. That is Lee Soohyuk's greatest merit.”

Cale's mouth slightly opened, but he was unable to say anything.

He recalled meeting Lee Soohyuk in his dream in the past when he had fainted.

“We died when we were not fated to die. The God of Death must have felt pity for us, as He gave each of us an opportunity.”

The God of Death gave Lee Soohyuk an opportunity to give Cale a power, and Cale received [Embrace] from him.

“... that reward was being reborn in the world I'm in?”

“No. He was fated to be born there this time. The reward is something else.”

The god observed Cale’s nonchalant face and clenched fists before continuing to speak.

“As a reward for his merit, he is able to be reborn with his memories.”

“... Ah.”

Cale let out a gasp. He and the God of Death looked at each other.

Smile.

The God of Death smiled. It was a slightly mischievous smile unlike before.

However, His eyes were serious.

Cale realized it at that moment.

“Ha!”

He scoffed in disbelief.

The God of Death had said the following just now.

“Lee Soohyuk has been helping me with things.”

Team Leader Lee Soohyuk – who has been reborn with his memories, had helped the God of Death with things. There was a hidden meaning behind that.

‘That means Team Leader Lee Soohyuk has information about the Hunters and the things the God of Death has done.’

Cale hesitating for a moment before asking a question.

“... Is it what the Team Leader wanted?”

“Of course. Lee Soohyuk was the one who said he wanted this as his reward first.”

The god looked at Cale who was watching Him and asked.

“So, are you satisfied with that bonus?”

Cale nodded his head without any hesitation. If this is just a bonus, he won't need to worry about his main reward.

“I guess so. But what about the others?”

“Hmm?”

Smile.

Cale smiles like a scammer.

He is satisfied. But the god didn't say that He cannot give more, right?

“Team Leader and I are not the only ones with merits.”

The God of Death stopped meeting his gaze.

“... Don’t worry. I plan to discuss it with them personally after this.”

‘Hm?’ Cale felt suspicious about that statement.

“You don't plan anything weird towards them, are you?”

“Hiing… Why do you never trust me when I try to offer good things?”

He always whines about everything.

“.....”

“.....”

“Hm. Well, is that all? Can I go back now?”

“Aaa… that. You can’t go back.”

Cale’s head snapped toward the God of Death who nervously averted His eyes.

Cale finally realized something.

‘This bastard. Since earlier, He has been acting guilty as if He tried to delay telling me the most crucial information.’

The God of Death sweats and turns His face away to avoid Cale’s intense vicious gaze.

“Do you remember the presence who helped you seal the Sealed God?”

Cale nodded.

“That presence was a fragmented soul that came out from the Gate the Sealed God tried to open. They notice our attempt to seal that god on my domain when they’re here. But they decided to follow into my domain as soon as we finished the sealing.”

“Why would you let a random person from the Demon Gate into your domain?”

“Well, death is open for every existence in all universes, is it not? Who am I to refuse if they decided to come on their own?”

The God of Death’s annoying voice answered his question like it was an obvious statement.

“Anyway, I was quite curious why their fragment soul decided to give us a hand, as it turned out the Gate that the Sealed God summoned a Demon King who coincidentally was busy in another world. Which was so relieving–”

.

“But they cling to your soul tightly when you close my book. As a result, your soul was also getting pulled here by them. Fortunately, I protect both of you away from the Sealed God so you don't get imprisoned together with that bastard–”

.

“But that soul! They really refused to let go of your soul and almost burned you! Your body falls into a coma for weeks because of it!”

He was rambling.

“And then?”

“T-then, somehow their main soul and two more fragment souls come here as well and drag both of you to their world. I’ve tried holding your soul to stop them. But they just pull you harder to the other side!”

‘This damn bastard. Does He think my soul is a tug of war rope for play?!’

Cale massaged his throbbing head.

“So you’ve lost.”

“.....”

“... Haaa.”

Cale really wants to smack the back of His head. He couldn’t believe that useless god let his soul get kidnapped.

“Fuck! Did I get [Transmigrated] again?!”

“No…”

“... No?”

“That world they drag you into. It was actually the world of your life before you’re supposed to be reborn in Nameless 1… you found out about this not long ago, right?”

Kim Roksoo's soul was supposed to be born in the Nameless 1 world. But his body got snatched by White Star, a [Reincarnator]. As a result, his soul got thrown out and born on Earth 1 instead.

After that, Kim Roksoo got [Transmigrated] by switching soul with the original Cale Henituse. And here he is now.

“Cale, the reason why I – a god, can show my true appearance in front of you with the consent from others here.”

A God of Death’s domain.

“... as of today, Cale Henituse just died.”

Whoosh–! Crash!

The mug of hot cocoa was thrown passing near the God of Death’s head and smashed against the wall.

The office falls into a crack of silence.

“.....”

“... Haaaaaah!”

Cale let out a loud sigh as he slumped to his chair. His body shakes from rage.

“You told me all of those things. Only to tell me it means nothing to me now?!”

“.....”

“Useless motherfucking god.”

The god lowered his head in regret.

“This is something I did not expect to happen. Haaah.”

The God of Death raised his head and opened His mouth again.

“... Cale, I hope you will be careful in that world. That fragment of soul, they carry the remains of a Demon King with them.”

Crack. Crack.

The light in the peaceful office started to blink on and off again as Cale opened one of his eyes and stared menacingly toward the god.

“The reason why I want your help, but not wanting you getting dragged deeper into this anymore…”

Craaack.

“About our previous conversation. In that world, the cause of your death–”

Craaack! Boom-!

The whole office was shaking.

“.....”

“.....”

Cale became even more furious.

Really. Those shitty Hunters. Were they always meddling in his every single life?

Cale wants to destroy everything when this useless god hinted to him that the Hunters are somehow connected to the death of his previous life.

“Huuuu. I really want to give you something more for everything you have done, Cale. I also want to send someone to protect and help you there if possible. But that world has a lot of stronger restrictions. It drains me a lot of power just to talk with you right now.”

Then, the god smiles and sprung up like He has suddenly gained a new life.

“But no worries, I’ll find a way. Now, it seems a new guest has finally arrived here?”

Cale turned his head towards the direction the god was staring at.

Behind him, a man with short black hair who wears a white priest robe is watching them with a bulging clenched fists.

“Our conversation has been long and I would love to have more chat with you, but that would be difficult without my divine item. How about you consider again to accept being my Saint, hmm~ My Child?”

Cale snapped his head toward the annoying god.

“I’m not your child!”

“He is not your child.”

He felt someone hug him from behind. And then… dark.

He slowly opened his eyes.

The first thing he saw in his blurry adjusting view, was a crying girl and her soft rosy hair.

“..... Olie?”

Then, his [Record] started to play.
