Summary
After the external conflicts and family/Council fallout of Frayed Threads, Book 4 turns inward and darker. The fragile peace the throuple has built begins to strain under the weight of old instincts, unfinished guilt, and the truth of what Hyunjin and Changbin actually are.
Hyunjin’s possessiveness, once tempered by growth and Changbin’s steadying presence, starts to resurface in sharper, more consuming ways. External pressure (including lingering threats from rival factions) feeds the part of him that still believes the only way to keep Felix safe is to hold him tighter. The book leans into the morally grey edges of their love — the same edges that first brought Felix into their world — without fully undoing the partnership they have fought to build.Series
