Chapter 1: Mm, talk to me, talk to me Be the man that I need, baby

Chapter Text

Tim knows Lucy likes to sing, she hums in the morning while getting ready. She sings in the kitchen while making the coffee. He has even heard her in the shower singing. She doesn’t let him hear it though, as soon as she knows he’s listening she stops.

Which is a shame.

Because she has a good voice, it’s calming and it’s something he wants more of. He heard her singing in the footage of the video of her in the barrel and had to shut it down. It was hard listening to her, and then remembering pulling her out.

He has heard her singing in the shop when she’s alone or even when she’s with Celina and they are riding together.

But again as soon as she knows he’s listening, she stops. He’s not sure why, he’s not sure if it because she’s embarrassed or because she just doesn’t want him to hear her.

Tonight is no different, he’s hears her getting ready for bed in the bathroom. He gets out of bed and sneaks over. She is of course singing, and it’s a song he does recognize.

You make me wanna make you fall in love

Oh, late at night, I'm thinking 'bout you, ah-ah

Wanna try out some freaky positions?

Have you ever tried this one?

Tim raises his eyebrows at the last line, and he’s curious about it. What the hell was she singing?

I know you want my touch for life

If you love me right, then who knows?

I might let you make me Juno

You know I just might

Let you lock me down tonight

One of me is cute, but two though?

Give it to me, baby

You make me wanna make you fall in love

He steps closer to get more of what she is saying, she has a towel wrapped around her body and her hair. She is still wet from the shower, and she is now humming a different song.

Mm, talk to me, talk to me

Be the man that I need, baby

Talk to me, talk to me

Be the man that I need, need, need

Mm, talk to me, talk to me

Be the man that I need, baby

Talk to me, talk to me

Be the man, man, man, man, man

Tim could be that man, he hopes he is that man. Everything had been going pretty good since they got rescued minus the few nightmares they have both had. Minutes the countless question everyone asked them right away.

They of course just wanted to be by each other and it was a little touch and go for awhile with Lucy. Tim was angry of course that they tortured her because of him.

And then there was the guilt of that, and whole bunch of other things.

But they were getting through it and things were getting back to normal little by little.

In fact, Lucy singing in the bathroom once again was something that went away for a little bit.

(Mostly because he was always there right next to her).

Tim is glad to hear her singing again even if he doesn’t know the songs. He just admires her from the doorway, grateful she’s here.

She hums some more as she drops the first towel. He freezes as she pulls a shirt over her head. And then shorts, it’s a shame really. He was really admiring her.

She takes her hair towel off and brushes her hair out. And then she finally looks in the mirror and catches his eyes.

He tries to move back to the bedroom but her voice stops him in his tracks.

“How long were you standing out there?” She asks. Tim turns to look at her, and she is actually smiling.

“A little bit.”

“You heard me singing?” She asks. Tim nods and moves towards the bathroom. He steps forward and stands in front of her.

“You have a good voice.” He says. Lucy’s cheeks flush a little and she moves away from the counter towards him. “I know you don’t like people to hear you sing.”

Lucy puts a hand on his chest and draws him in, he looks at her curious. “I don’t mind.” She says. “The last time someone heard me singing, they made me relive one of the worst moments of my life.”

Tim frowns a little. “What?” He asks. “Who?” Lucy waves him off, and stands on her toes to kiss him.

“It doesn’t matter.” She says. “I just think I have self consciously protected myself because I do like to sing.”

“Of course.” Tim says. He presses a kiss to the top of her head, still curious about what she said. He has a feeling he knows what she’s talking about. “Who made you relive the worst moment of your life.”

“One of the worst moments.” She reminds him. “Being separated from you after we got engaged wasn’t a walk in the park.”

“Right, my bad.” Tim says. “One of the worst moments of your life.”

“It was when I was going to testify—Chris was humming the song.” Lucy says. Tim stiffens a little, he had a feeling and he hates the man even more. “He said it was an accident and I didn’t want to make a big deal of it. But ever since then—”

“He’s an asshole.” Tim says. “I can’t believe—”

“It doesn’t matter Tim.” Lucy says. “I knew you would go all Tim Bradford on him and we weren’t even together or close to being together. I played it off which was stupid I know but it doesn’t matter anymore.”

Tim takes a few deep breaths, he is glad he doesn’t see Chris Sanford anymore. Rumor had it that he moved out of LA. It wasn’t a big loss for anyone really but if he even stepped foot again near Lucy.

“Fine. It doesn’t matter anymore.” He says his jaw clenched. “But you do have a good voice and I do like hearing it.” Lucy’s face flushes again but she gives him a grateful smile.

“Thank you.” She says. “I appreciate that.” Tim nods and studies her for a second before starting to back her into the room.

“No problem,” he says. “About that song.”

“Which one?”

“You said something about freaky positions.” He says trying to keep his voice light. “Ya know…”

“Oh I know.” Lucy says smirking at him. “You liked that?”

“I did.” He says. “And you are a freak in the sheets.” Lucy rolls her eyes and pushes at his chest.

“You are one to talk.” She says. “You woke me up this morning with your head between my thighs.”

“I didn’t hear you complaining.”

“And you never will.” She says. Tim grins at her, and presses his forehead against.  “So the freaky positions… you wanna try it?” She is smiling big and Tim can’t help but lean in and kiss her.

“You took the words right out of my mouth.” He says. “Oh and I can be the man you need.” Lucy laughs and they fall back on the bed.

“Good to know.” She says. Tim just kisses her and he knows this is going to be a great night.

A very good one indeed.
