You and L liked each other for a while now, which certainly made things awkward at the task force headquarters. The worse part is, everyone knows except y’all two. They are pretty tired of it.
Everyone called in sick conveniently. So it was just y’all two. Usually L would cancel it. But he had “ulterior motives” Y’all two were both working on the computer. Watching to see if there’s any new people dying due to Kira.
After an awhile L got lost in thought staring at you. This was not an uncommon occurrence. It never failed to make you red in the face though. “Uh, can I help you?” You said.
L still turned to you said the number one most cursed pick up line of the century.
“Are you kira, because you gave me a heartattack.” He smiled while saying it too. Which made things even worse.
Your eyes widen. “What-“ you tilt your head “you think I’m Kira? Am I a suspect? How do I fix tha-“
L quickly gave up. Turning away from you. Facing his computer again. He was extremely embarrassed. He turned around so it wasn’t noticeable.
“Nothing. Nothing.” You just stared at him confused. Now you were the one staring.. L knew you were looking but was too flustered to question it. He then proceeded to take a bite of his cake.
Then it hit you. He was flirting with you, that was a pick up line. As bad as it was. It still made you blush, you continue to watch as he keeps eating his cake.
Him still being too scared to turn around. He glances from the corner of his eye. When he saw you looking at him. his entire face got red as he covered his face. Debating on facing you again.
He took a deep breath and turned around. He tilted his head. “You look hot, are you okay?”
You blinked for the first time in a while, your eyes really needed it. “What-“ was he calling you-
“Your face. It’s red. It’s hot.” He blushed, realizing what he said the first time. “I mean I’m not saying that you’re not also..”
He said looking at the ground with his thumb on his lip adverting your gaze.
“You are too.” You said shyly looking to the side. Fidgeting with your hands. Your heart pounding so hard in your chest that you could hear it.
“Hm.. the possibility that you like me back is nearly 100%”
You chuckle slightly “it is 100%.”
L finally looks up at you again, he gives you a shy smile. His face a blushing mess.
“And you give me heart attacks too. A lot of the time.” You looked at him, he looked adorable. You guys were gazing in each others eyes, forgetting about Kira. Even if it was only for a few seconds.
