Podfic Pensive
I know Star Wars: The Clone Wars quite well.
I know nothing of Heated Rivalry.
I am not looking up anything, not about hockey, not even character names. Sorry-not-sorry

I made very short notes on each section soon after I read it. These are reordered (badly) and I will be adding what I remember now weeks after the fact.
Week 3 section 2
texts between Sabe and Padme about early hockey. Padme wants to get it out there how bad things are for the naboo team but doesn’t want to mix politics and sports. She gets Sabe to reach out to bail to start something.
Pamde was so frustrated. She said she couldn’t start another podcast. How many podcasts have you started Padme? So she gets Sabe to start one for her and basically rants to her friend about all her opinions. They also establish that Bail is fully a Hockey fan openly and it has been a mixed bag for him.
Week 2 section 2
Quinlan establishing his cover as Han and starting the podcast with Sabe. This is written as a report to the council.
Quinlan is building up cover identities in case he ever needs a reputable source to get or leak info. Bail mentioned something offhand and he got in contact with Sabe, starting the 2 on 5 podcast. Also there was a line about “Han” now having strong opinions about front liners that was pure innuendo.
Week 4 section 1
A section where Sabe and Quin commiserate over planets leaving and what the players from those planets will do. Also, the hot takes involved.
I know this section was set up and larger worldbuilding but most of it was Hockey stuff and none of the names stayed in my brain.
There also Might have been a joke about Geonosis only leaving the republic because they didn’t get a hockey team or something.
Week 1 section 1:
Quinlan and Sabe have a podcast. They both use fake names. They are simping about the draft.Shane and Holden???? Are the 1 and 2 pick. Both are non-human. Shane I think, is a twilec and the other is a zabrac.
This section did not explain the whole Quinlan is Han thing at first and I was so confused, thinking that Han Solo was here somehow. Isn’t he way too young?
Week 3 section 4:
Padme as a guest on the podcast. She is happy that (player) is transferring to Naboo and speculation on why he chose to. Inclusivity? Or maybe for love?!?!
I assume this is one of the characters from the book. The not Russian one maybe?
Week 2 section 4
Quinlan going and meeting one of the players. He gets a force vision of the two players hooking up in the locker room - the subject of THE VIDEO.
No wonder Shane??? Transferred to Naboo its a lot closer than Alderan.
They never actually say what the video is - presumably because it’s a plot point in Heated Rivalry and anyone familiar with the source would get it. It’s implied to be sexual and to out one of the characters.
Week 3 section 2
Vod chat. One of them realizes that Pike(?) is a vod and is all How? Cool, but What?
The commanders confirm and say to keep it quiet for the sake of clone rights.
Not sure if these are in anything close to the right order. Also I love the way Opalsong writes these chat logs in all the pensive stories but I will never for the life of me be able to remember them in any kind of detail. Recreation is even more impossible than the rest of this thing.
Week 2 section 3
An earlier podcast?
Quinlan and Sabe are talking about THE VIDEO. They are not making any statement and ask the other fans to be patient and respect any statement put out by the players.
Week 3 section 1: Bail Sabe and Quinlan talking about how Naboo signed Hollindar and (other hokey player) apparently the Alderan team was not testing (other character) well after he came out. The team knew he was gay but didn't say anything. Not even Sabe and Quinlan knew and they are in the sauce. Bail is disappointed but can’t say much since he didn't know.
Week 1 section 3: propaganda piece about the clones watching space hockey. Kit is cheering for the Alderan team. The rest of the clones are cheering for the other team nar-shada Jedi knights. They “have to cheer for the Jedi right?”
They are hiding one thing in the background.
Shane is from the Alderan team.
No confirmation yet that Holden is on the nar-shada team.
Week 1 Section 2: texting between Shane and Holden. Shane has talked to Organa and is going to be the face of the movement that frees the clones. He has agreed but also it’s a lot.
Week 4 section 4
Quinn undercover noticed the discrepancies in Naboo finances regarding the hockey league. Discovery of money laundering.
Week 4 section 2
Quinn was given the winning puck from the playoffs and he could feel the person involved liked the flirting. Also, the feeling from touching the winning puck was better than sex.
I think Quinlan would really appreciate the Heated Rivalry series.
Week 3 section 3
Quinlan’s vision re: the meet and greet. He sees the Chancelor talking with the head of the hokey org, and manages to get enough to know that he’s offering someone an apprenticeship.
Oh No the Chancellor Is The Sith!
Who would have thought that a low level hokey podcast would be the key to the war.
I remember liking how this was written. It was a report, but interspersed with bits of the vision, and again, there is no way I could recreate that perfect stylistic choice.
Week 3 section 3:
Fox posted an article.
They won
Pike - player for Naboo, is a clone and has all the rights and he sets a precedent in the senate.
There was a big description about Pike and how he was adopted by a former player or coach and raised to play hockey really well. I know this is one of the main characters but I still don’t know if they’re on the same team as one of the romance characters or one of the romance characters themself? I wrote down the name Pike but who that is I have no idea - and in my head both the romance people are non-human…
Week 2 section 1
2 on 5 podcast from Quinlan and Sabe.
Each of the hokey players have won the World Cup at this point and they are celebrating but also there is NEWS.
The chancellor has been using the league to launder money. This is illegal everywhere. The chancellor is in big trouble.
So we got the big reveal at the start of week 2, and also the name of the podcast that is a central part of this story. You can see which fact I wrote down first. I was certain I would forget what the podcast was called.
Week 4 section 3
Victory lap. Sabe and Quin, celebrating clone freedom, and one player, kissing another and openly gay players.
