   We didn’t even kiss. What a stupid thing to say. Shane felt ridiculous and miserable the moment he hit send, but the season was over, and he could spend the rest of his summer wallowing. Shane was fine. Perfectly fine.
   Just before he pressed the button to descend in the elevator, his phone buzzed.
   Lily: fuck off
   Shane’s stomach clenched in shame. Then, a moment later —
   Lily: fuck. no. come back
   Well, he didn’t quite know what to make of that.
