Summary
Arizona Territory, 1885.
Jon Stark has spent most of his life riding hard country, hunting dangerous men, and keeping the ghosts of his past where they belong. A bounty hunter with an Apache father, a dead white mother, and a reputation that arrives in town before he does, Jon trusts horses, steel, and his own instincts far more than he trusts people.
Then a wanted outlaw leads him to Coyote Wells—and straight into the path of an Albany-born schoolteacher who has no intention of being intimidated by six-foot-four inches of scarred, gun-slinging trouble.
Daenerys Targaryen has survived enough of life to know better than to trust a dangerous stranger.
Unfortunately, Jon Stark is proving very difficult to ignore.
What neither of them knows is that Jon's arrival in Coyote Wells has stirred up more than trouble.
It has awakened a family secret buried for nearly two decades.
And before Jon and Dany can decide whether they are enemies, friends, or something far more dangerous, the past is coming for them both.
Out here, love is dangerous. Secrets are deadly. And some hearts are worth fighting for.
