Work Text:
It was the early hours of the morning, rays of sun drifted through the gaps in the shut curtains illuminating the hallway with thin beams of light.
As Coco blearily stumbled into the kitchen, her eyes landed on Agott, nursing a cup of marktea while sat at the kitchen table. She was still wearing her clothes from yesterday. Her hair was also a mess, most likely from constantly running a hand through it. Her eyes narrowed, they had just spoken about this last week.
She walked up being Agott, who still too focused on whatever she was working on to notice Coco's looming over her from behind.
"Please don't tell me you've been up all night again, especially after our talk from last week?"
Agott jumped at the sound of Coco's voice, freezing in place briefly before she turned in the chair to face Coco with wide, guilty eyes. She'd been so absorbed in what she was doing that she hadn't noticed it was now the early hours of the morning. "Uhm…I just wanted to work on an idea I had, I guess I didn't notice the time?"
"What have I told you about staying up all night?" Coco scolded, crossing her arms. "It isn't healthy." She stepped forward, her stern expression softening into a concerned one as she cupped Agott's face in her hands, thumbs gently smoothing her under-eyes.
She really didn't know how Agott had got into this habit, back when they were apprentices Olruggio had constantly reminded them to not stay up all night working on things like he did. She made a mental note to speak with Qifrey about the matter, perhaps he would have some advice. Although, it may not be the best idea to ask him either, considering Olruggio's habit of staying up past respectable hours still hasn't changed to this day.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry." She mumbled, looking back up at Coco with half-lidded eyes.
Coco pulls her hands back a soft sigh escaped her lips. Gently taking Agott's arm she slowly pulled her up out of the chair and began guiding her out of the kitchen to their bedroom. "Come on, let's get you to bed. You can finish whatever you were working on after you get some proper rest, you understand?"
Agott hummed, yawning softly, as she sleepily rested her head on Coco's shoulder, the warmth from her body lulling her into further drowsiness.
Coco giggled softly, it wasn't unusual for Agott to become clingy whilst tired, there had been many early mornings where she'd hug Coco, refusing to let go unless she either woke up a little more or a compromise was made, often involving making her favourite breakfast.
Once they were inside their bedroom Coco wasted no time in ushering Agott into bed, Agott collapsed onto the bed with no grace whatsoever, arms and legs splayed out in varying directions her face immediately nuzzling into the soft pillow.
Coco turned to make her leave after watching her for a few seconds, but stopped in her tracks when she felt a tug on her arm.
Agott had reached out, a hand firmly holding onto one of Coco's sleeves. "Please stay…" she mumbled looking up at Coco with sleepy eyes, voice thick with exhaustion.
"A—Agott, I have to prepare for today's lessons, I can't." Coco protested weakly, she looked back down at the bed. She knew it was a mistake when she saw Agott's pleading expression staring right back at her, making her heart ache subtly.
"Please? Just ten minutes? Or until I fall asleep?" Agott pleaded, giving Coco a sleepy pout in a further attempt to convince her to stay for just a while longer.
"Fine," Coco smiled softly. "I can sit with you for just ten more minutes."
