“We shouldn’t,” Legolas breathed, though he was leaning in closer towards the only other body nearest him by the second.
In turn, Gimli nodded and inched nearer to the Elf before him. “Aye. That’s likely so.”
Legolas bent forward, their noses brushing, then he murmured, “But I want to, because I want you.”
It was said like an admission of guilt, and perhaps that should have bothered Gimli more. However, it did not, because what Legolas sought, so did he.
“We are of one mind there,” Gimli replied.
Legolas smiled, then dipped down even closer. “Small victories, one might say.”
