Work Text:
George isn’t paying too much attention as Brian drives down the highway. It’s late at night, and they’re nearly at the hotel, but it’s still another thirty minutes away. Ringo was in the passenger seat, which left Paul, John, and George all cramped in the back. John managed to fall asleep, half sprawled out in Paul’s lap. Paul’s head rests on George’s shoulder, eyes not shut, but he’s staring tiredly at the floor of the car. His bunny ears droop down against George, head seeming to nod lower with each yawn.
However with how close Paul is, it’s really reminding George of all of their sleepovers, and the habits that accompanied those memories. They had a bit of a deal that worked for both of their instincts. Paul liked to rub his nose against George’s chin and neck, occasionally nipping at the scent glands. George liked to chew on Paul’s bunny ears, never hard enough to do any kind of harm of course. It was a fair trade off.
And Paul’s ears were so close to his lips, and before he could really stop himself, he leaned forward with an open mouth. He mouths at the soft fur, and Paul jolts just slightly before giving a sleepy mumble. He tilts his head up, nose pressing into George’s jugular, and George takes that as permission to start suckling on the ears. His tongue strokes over the soft fur, not exactly grooming him, rather enjoying the texture in his mouth.
His eyes flutter, starting to shut, only for Brian to choose that moment to look in the rearview mirror, confusion taking over his face.
“George, are you chewing on Paul?” he asks, befuddled, and George hesitates before forcing himself to open his mouth and let the ear drop. It’s slick with drool, though Paul doesn’t seem to care. George cares though. He wants it back in his mouth.
“...no,” he lies, and Brian doesn’t seem to know how to react. His mouth opens to speak, but George bites down on his ear again, sucking and chewing gently. Paul is limp against him, half laying against him with his face pressed into the crook of his neck. He’s breathing heavily even in his sleep. George hears Ringo murmur something to Brian from the front seat, likely explaining the situation to him.
His eyes fall shut finally, and he takes a deep breath, nearly asleep when the car comes to a stop. He undoes his seatbelt, letting Paul’s ear drop from his mouth again. Paul wakes up when George stops holding him up, yawning and wrapping his arms back around him. George helps him out, and they all follow Brian in as they get checked in.
The moment they get to the hotel room, George collapses into bed with Paul. He stuffs his ear back in his mouth, tension seeping out of him when Paul presses a gentle kiss to his scent gland and tucks closer. His lips latch onto George’s neck, sucking the skin there. He couldn’t even count the amount of times Paul’s given him a hickey just from falling asleep sucking.
He really couldn’t complain though with how fast he falls asleep.
