Work Text:
If there was one thing Maleficent hated it was talking about feelings. She hated a lot of other things but that was definitely close to the top of the list.
She stared at Hades, caught off guard for once. “What?”
“I know you like him.” He repeated simply.
“I don't like Hook. I tolerate him.” She corrected.
“You play with his hair.”
She shrugged. “He has soft hair.”
“I'm not mad or anything.”
That part made her pause. “You…? What?”
“That you like him,” Hades said, his hair flickering. “He has appeal.”
“What are you trying to say right now?”
“That we both like Hook and maybe should do, I dunno, something about it.”
Maleficent blinked slowly. “You're proposing we what? Just march up and…kiss him or something?”
Hades shrugged. “Maybe.”
~~~
Maleficent is suddenly very aware of Hook’s presence. He's sitting in front of her again, her fingers in his hair. He's leaning into it, doesn't even complain when she tugs on it.
Hades catches her eyes and he smirks because the bastard knows now.
How had she gotten into this mess?
She tries to focus on something else. Like how Morgie and Bridget keep glancing at each other or how Uliana is weaving plants together for some brew or another.
It doesn't work.
Her eyes go right back to Hook.
She tugs extra hard this time, mostly out of spite. A hiss escapes Hook’s lips. “Damnit, Mal. I'm starting to think you do that on purpose.”
“I would never,” she replied smoothly.
~~~
“You ever gonna tell me how you lost that thing?” Hades asked, peering at the stump as Hook removed his…well his hook.
“A crocodile,” he said simply. “Very big one.”
“No details?” Hades pressed innocently, raising an eyebrow.
Hook swatted at the god with his good hand. “Not yet.”
“Shame,” Hades said, grinning.
~~~
Hook giggled drunkenly, staring at the black lipstick on his cheek.
Maleficent cursed herself internally. How could she be so stupid? Hook stumbled a bit, catching himself on Hades’s shoulder. “Guyssss?”
“What?” She snapped.
“You’re so pretty.”
The words are slurred but he's staring at them both with some pure kind of honesty in his eyes, the kind that is only possible in a young child or a drunk.
Hades looked a little shocked. “Wow. You're fucking drunk.”
“Am I?”
