Chapter Text
“What's wrong with you?” Hades asked flatly.
Bridget looked up from her lap. “I kissed Morgie.”
Hades raised an eyebrow. “Seriously? You're moping over a kiss? What, did he reject you or something?”
“No,” Bridget said defensively. “But he likes Hook. And I like Hook. But I really do like Morgie too.”
“You like Hook?” Is all Hades asks.
Bridget nodded miserably.
“Fucking hell, does everybody have the hots for Hook or something?”
The corner of her mouth twitched. “Well he is cute.”
“He would kill you if he ever knew you called him cute.” Hades said.
Bridget laughed. She had a pretty laugh. “Just don't tell on me.”
Hades smirked. “I won't…between me and you. He is cute.”
“You like guys?” She asked.
Hades shrugged, picking at the black polish on his nails. “Who cares about fucking genitals? There are more important things.”
“Like what?” Bridget asked curiously.
“Like if they'll be evil with you or not,” the god answered simply, as if that was common sense.
Bridget smiled this time, fully smiled.
~~~
The god of the dead rolled his eyes. “Why am I letting you do this?”
Bridget held his hand in place, carefully dragging the polish over his nails. “Because we're friends.”
“Friends,” Hades repeated, “right.”
“Hold still, you oaf.”
“Make me, Wonderland.”
“That's such a stupid nickname.” She said, “It's like if I called you Underworld.”
“Do it. I don't care.”
“You never care,” Bridget said softly, starting on his other hand. “I'm a bit jealous of that.”
“I don't care?”
“Well…yeah.”
“If I didn't care, why would I be friends with you?”
Bridget stilled for a moment, a smile spreading over her face. “You admit we're friends?”
“Yeah, yeah, don't get all mushy on me.”
“I'm not,” she protested.
~~~
“I would love it if you told me what the fuck you were doing,” Hades huffed.
“Eyeliner,” Bridget said simply.
“I do eyeliner all the time, why can't I just do it myself?”
“Because I'm doing it better,” she retorted.
“Are you really?”
“Yes,” she said. “Now hold still.”
“You're such a bitch sometimes,” Hades complained.
“I will poke you in the eye.”
“I'm shaking in my boots, Wonderland, truly.”
