Summary
Carmen Violeta Peña - known to the public as the powerful telepath, Whisper - has just achieved the impossible. By weaponizing her telekinesis, mind-control, and carefully curated public image, she has successfully manipulated her way into replacing The Deep as the newest member of The Seven. But Carmen isn't interested in saving lives or gaining corporate power. She spent three years doing Vought's dirty work for one single, preordained purpose: Homelander.
Homelander is used to fear, performative desire, and political ambition disguised as admiration. He is completely unprepared for someone who wants absolutely nothing but his happiness. When she finally gets him alone, she doesn't cower or scheme-she completely submits, surrendering her soul at his feet.
As Carmen eagerly steps into the shadows to become his deeply devoted enabler - willingly invading minds, editing stolen intelligence, and enthusiastically clearing his path of enemies just to make him smile - a dark, fatal, and twisted romance is born.
She loves him. Everything she does, she does for love. And that is exactly the problem.
