Work Text:
Roy’s angry.
It’s something that makes him throw back his head and lose himself in the annoyance coming up.
In his hands are documents he’s worked on for the past three weeks. They’re important for their upcoming charity gala for their sponsors and Rebecca needed them done by the end of this month.
When Roy went to scan the documents to send them to Higgins, he couldn't find them. He knew he left the stack by the printer yesterday when he went to make Jamie's lunch. He forgot after, being distracted by the cartoon about a blue dog, and was reminded today when he saw the printer.
After hours of searching, he found them under the stack of magazines in the living room.
Roy didn't put them there. He concluded Jamie didn’t know what this was when he went to grab paper from his office printer. Just a bunch of nonsense numbers and words to him. He had used the back to draw instead of asking his Daddy if these were important.
Roy knew leaving his office door open risked anything… Fuck. The little prick had drawn on the back of the paper with a marker that leaked through and made everything illegible with his doodles. Roy couldn’t even copy what he had written when the colours smudged his craftsmanship.
Well, it was the last week of the month.
This took him three weeks.
He did the math. If he skipped sleep and worked on it for four days straight, he could finish it.
Possibly.
Fuck.
Setting the documents down, Roy stood up and marched out of his office. He's sure Jamie's out of his small space judging from how his voice sounds from down the hall; loudly obnoxious and deep.
Stepping into Jamie’s room, he sees him at his chair and desk, playing a game with his headset on. He’s spouting out curses and twisting the chair side to side, focused on whatever is on screen.
Roy watches him for a bit from the door, taking a moment to assess the situation. He could simply shout out the lad's name to get his attention, but where was the fun in that? He had a chance to give Jamie a little scare before bending that arse over and delivering his unforgiving swats.
Smirking, Roy snakes his way over, making sure he keeps quiet. He pauses from time to time when Jamie whips his body around, but his face stays glued to the screen. Christ, what game is that? Roy couldn't make out exactly what it was, but it seemed to be another first-person shooter — they all looked the fucking same to Roy.
”Colin, behind you! Fuck! Isaac, fucking cover me, mate! Jeff, pick up the fucking slack! We’re top—AH!”
Jamie screams with fright when Roy rips off the headset and pulls him away from the computer with a hard tug at his ear, pointing to the door.
“What the fuck do you want now!?” Jamie shouts angrily. “Nearly shat me fucking self!”
”You. In my office. Now.”
“I didn’t fucking do anything!” In Jamie’s defense; technically true depending how far in his small space he was. But being a little didn’t excuse that.
”I said now.”
Jamie looks towards his screen, frowning. His character sat idle while looking through a scope of sorts towards a meadow. "Can't I finish me game first? Almost done!" Jamie whined, with a hand reaching over mouse.
"Pause it."
“It aren't the pausing kind of game—ow ow ow!” Jamie whines loudly when Roy pulls him up from his ear and drags him out the room. Colin, Jeff, and Isaac's laughs coming from the headset are the last thing they hear.
“Guys, never forget me!” Jamie shouts out from down the hall.
“I'll be sure to tell them that,” Roy says and drags him around the corner and right into the office where the documents he ruined lay on his desk.
“Explain!” Roy shoves him towards the desk and right in the documents. He points to them over Jamie's shoulder. “Now!”
Jamie stumbles on his feet to balance himself over the desk. He picks up a piece of paper and turns it over. It takes a second before his face twists with fear and drops it to a feigned confusion. Roy's right there to see it happen and the prick really thinks he can fool someone that knows him inside and out.
“Nice drawings. Very Picasso.”
“Done by yours truly.” Roy gives him the eye. “It has your signature written all over.”
Little Jamie loved to doodle smiley faces as his signature for every drawing he made and these documents were littered with them.
“Me?!” Jamie gasps. “Weren't me!”
“Then who?”
“Um, a happy ghost?”
Roy sighs. There isn't enough time in the world for a back and forth, not when he has to redo everything. The excuses can be said over the crack of his belt meeting that deserving bottom.
“Arse out and hands on the desk,” he says, unbuckling his belt. Jamie mutters under his breath at what's to occur and crumples up the ruined document to chuck it at him.
“Said it weren't me!” Not even Jamie believes his own words, his eyes avoiding Roy's and lips twitching, nor does he attempt to run away.
“And I said arse out and hands on the desk. Don't make me count to three, little boy."
Jamie shrinks at the nickname, but manages to shoot Roy a timid glare and a stick of his tongue.
Roy stares back, amused. The prick's lucky Roy doesn’t count the attitude and the balled-up paper by his foot. Pulling the belt in one swoop, he holds the metal buckle in a fist and folds the thick leather neatly in his hand.
"One."
Grumbling, Jamie does as told, dropping his sweats and slamming his hands onto the desk to show his annoyance. He curves his spine and looks ahead, huffing and puffing.
Roy goes over and stands beside Jamie, placing a hand down his back. "I'm going to make this quick."
“Yeah, yeah, what-fucking-ever.”
”Yeah, yeah,” Roy shoots back with the same attitude. Positioning himself behind the brat, Roy doesn't give him a warning. He starts swatting at his outer thighs, making sure he doesn't go too hard. The snaps aren't loud, but its all Roy hears in the small room.
Jamie jerks and grunts out from the impact. He's already rumbling from the light swats, his cheeks dusting a light pink.
“Ow! Ow! Ow!” Jamie breathes out miserably, moving his hips to the side to avoid the leather hitting the same spot. It lands on his upper glute instead, making him yelp.
Roy guides him back in position, keeping a foot in between the legs. He doesn't stop as he does it, swinging his arm back and forth with an increasing pressure, but never hard enough to leave a damaging mark or bruise.
“Dadd'eh!” Jamie cries through his clenched teeth, trembling violently under the physical impacts of Roy's rage sinking into him. “Swoooorry! Weren't paying attention, Dadd'eh! I just wanted to doodle!”
The sobbing apologies are sincere and Roy can feel his own anger finally ebbing from them. He delivers the last swat gently across Jamie's bottom.
Stepping back, he lets Jamie stand there, shaking and sobbing, with globs of tears streaming down his cheeks and snot clinging beneath his nose.
“Sworry,” Jamie squeaks, wiping his wet face of tears and snot with the back of his long sleeve tee. Roy throws the belt onto the desk and goes up beside him, rubbing his back to give him some comfort.
“Sorry won't change what you did, little boy. Go stand in the corner until I say you can leave,” Roy says without the anger present. Jamie slowly rises and wobbles over to an empty corner; a corner he's all too accustomed to. He stands there, covering his frontal parts timidly and hunched over onto the wall, using it as support for his hiccuping frame.
Roy watches him for a bit to make sure he stays before cleaning up his desk. He slips his belt back on, tucks away the scribbled documents in a drawer dedicated to Jamie's drawings, and takes a seat in his overly large office chair.
Once his PC boots up, Roy tries to pull up his earlier drafts—no dice, everything he did was handwritten because he's old and prefers the old-fashioned way of a pen on paper. Jamie makes fun of him for it and he fucking deserves the snickers.
He prints out the documents because like Jamie, he doesn't learn his fucking lesson and wants to do it by hand again—seriously, he's developing carpal tunnel from this bullshit Rebecca makes him do.
Roy starts the tedious paper work. Fortunately for him, he remembers the majority of what needs to be written. needs to be written. He finds himself drawn to the small sniffles and taps of feet coming from the corner, but keeps his focus on the task at hand.
It the guttural snot sucking and thud that breaks Roy's concentration fully. His attention snaps to Jamie in the corner, and mentally sighs. The poor prick's shuffling bored in the corner with his head gently hitting the wall, needing some stimulation to keep his mind awake.
That itself is torture. Jamie's already been through enough for today
Plus, the doodles were cute and a lesson for Roy to never leave important things out in the open.
Sighing, Roy taps his pen hard on his desk and calls for his attention, “Jamie.”
Jamie slowly turns his head over, flinching when he meets Roy's intense gaze. He thinks he's in trouble for looking away, expecting a yell or shout for disobeying a simple order of keeping his nose to the corner. But Roy gestures him over with a hand and scoots his chair back.
The invitation is there and Jamie isn't sure if he's allowed to accept it. Does Roy need to be more obvious than he already is with an open lap and hand out? Then again, Jamie was better at taking direct orders than taking the initiative regardless of what was being offered to him, always second guessing himself.
“Come here, please.”
Jamie hurries over on his tip toes to keep his weight off the creaking wood. His arms swing open and he's sitting bare bottomed on Roy's lap, uncaring of the pain radiating from his backside.
“You're all right, love,” Roy coos softly to the crying lad cuddling up to his chest and rubbing his snot ridden nose across his cotton shirt. “Needn’t cry. Your arse will be fine.”
“Yer a meanie,” Jamie whispers, tucking his head into Roy’s neck and letting his body rest against him. “Yer a super big hairy meanie, Dadd'eh.”
Roy chuckles at the nickname. “That I am but your arse was asking for it. Promise to be quiet as I do my work? Take a nap if you like.”
Jamie nods excitedly, but fidgets right after. He wants to ask for something, and Roy can already guess what it is.
"Can..." Jamie looks at the desk drawer, swallowing. "Can I has me dumm'eh?" he asks nicely with a nervous quiver to his voice. Jamie hates how he looks with it but Roy thinks he looks adorable. If Jamie were to nap with a warmed bottom, he would need its assistance.
Without a second thought, Roy opens up the first drawer and rummages through it. He finds it buried in the back with the staples and pens. He inspects it in case it's dusty and thankfully it's dust free — like the rest of the house. Bringing it up to Jamie’s lips, the lad takes it in an instant and starts to suckle as he curls on Roy's lap.
Knowing Jamie will behave, Roy gives him a kiss on his forehead. “Good boy,” Roy tells him, genuinely meaning it. “Troublemaker you are, but always my good boy.”
Jamie scrubs his face along Roy’s neck with a wiggle of his body. He then murmurs his little demands under the dummy about what snacks and juice he wants after he wakes up or else. It's demands Roy is happy to oblige to.
Roy continues his work, writing down crucial information. Jamie watches him write with half-lidded eyes as he plays with the ends of Roy's growing beard. Soon, Jamie's little suckles die down, with his eyelids closing. Jamie's fast asleep, all tuckered out. His head lie heavy on Roy's shoulder and his arms stay cradled up to his chest, pressed into Roy.
Roy gives him another kiss on his forehead and gets to work diligently, all while being cuddled by his favourite person that makes him work ten times faster.
"Everyone! Build around Jamie!" Isaac commands through the mic. He might have been off the field but his captain duties always followed him.
"On it, boss!" Colin says back, his character already on the scene. He starts building walls and stairs to encase their friend and create a secure base.
"Aye, aye, captain!" Jeff says over Colin. He comes into the scene by gliding in gracefully and starts whacking down trees. They both work together to make a complex building; Colin constructing and Jeff collecting supplies. They both watch each other's back for enemies, with Isaac as their back up sniper from afar.
"What do you think he's in trouble for?" Jeff asks the group. It's been a few minutes since Roy kidnapped Jamie, unsure if he'll come back.
"Honestly? Breathing," Isaac replies, getting a chuckle from Colin and Jeff. Isaac glances at his second monitor propped up and to a webcam on top of it. He flashes it a smile and says out loud, "Yo chat, we're sitting top two! But we're down to three active players. Type one if you think Jamie's going to survive a Roy Kent smackdown. Two if he's dead."
Isaac's stream chat blows up with answers. He recognizes a few familir names of fellow fans, friends, and workmates.

"Fake fans if you picked two," Isaac tuts at the chat with a shake of his head. "I'll be sure to tell Jamie what you wrote there, not Dani Rojas underscore fourteen."

"Thoughts and prayers for our boy Jamie," Isaac fake sniffles. Him and the team know he isn't coming back judging from how angry Roy sounded. But they knew he'll be fine under Roy's care.
"Isaac, Jeff!" Colin shouts out suddenly, almost gasping, when a bullet misses his character. "Under attack!"
The three lock in, no longer laughing or smiling. This is it. The final fight for the top.
Their sharp eyes scan the area for enemies. Jeff spots them nearby, stating their coordinates and stationing nearby.
"Okay, team. We have to win for Jamie," Isaac whispers like the enemy can hear him as he inches closer to them. "He said at the start if we won, he'll juggle our trainers at work."
Jeff makes a confused noise. "I think he was joking. Does he even know how to juggle?"
"I don't know. That's why we have to win." Isaac's determination fuels the two lads. Either Jamie was joking or being sincere, Isaac was taking his chances.
The three get into position quickly; Isaac from the top, Colin in the middle, and Jeff around the bottom.
An enemy walks out of their base when Jeff hits the side of their base to bait them out.
Isaac effortlessly headshots the Miku Hatsune stepping out, smirking as he watches it crumble. The Miku Hatsune avatar fall to their knees, bleeding out. Jeff rushes in to finish them off with a few whacks of his guitar staff. When the Miku dies, Jeff takes their weapons and runs away when the rest of the enemies approach.
The enemy team scatter outside. Colin pops from around a small hill and sprays his bullets from above. They have to be playing with five year olds because they were basically giving them the win.
With the last enemy down and the rest dead, the three surround the remaining one. They make their avatars tbag the poor sucker, who's attempting to crawl away from them.
"This is for Jamie!" Colin wickedly laughs, spamming his crtl key.
Jeff joins in the taunts by rotating through the many emotes he has and spamming his little dances.
Isaac ducks his head away from the webcam to laugh at what they're doing. This could be someones kid and here they were, being bullies.
Winning bullies.
Jamie wouldn't have it any other way.
Having enough of dipping their virtual sacks, they take out the final player and cheer at the Victory Royale popping on screen.
