   Summary

The Head Doctor glanced at the thick chart in his hands, rifled through the papers for a moment before continuing. “We did every test we thought would be relevant to you, and they all came back with the same answer: your lung functionality fell drastically when you had your asthma attacks, but they’ve since stabilized and have held ever since.”

Shane knew that. Why was he going over all of this again?

“The thing with those functionality results, though,” the doctor paused, “is that your lungs seem to be holding steady in the range we see with active cases of asthma. All of your testing points to an active case of chronic asthma."

Or: Shane's childhood asthma comes back and no one can tell him why. Doctors say his active lifestyle is only making it worse and the best way forward is to quit hockey.

Shane knows they're right, and would never argue with a professional but... this would ruin everything he'd ever worked for! How can he just quit!? What would he even do without hockey?
