You’ve changed, but you’re still annoying

Summary:

Instead of jumping from that tower Saps ran.

Far, far, far away he ran until he reached the edge of the world.

There should have been no way to get past the barrier, but Ish must have taken pity on him.

So far he boated, far from Yggdrasil, far from Pandora, far far far from Flux.

He could have his perfect victory, he could win the world. Saps didn’t care, he just didn’t want to be a part of it.

Eventually the seas changed, and he found land, he found players. So he asked them where he was.

Written on an oak sign: “The Unstable SMP”

Chapter 1: Hello World (Prologue)

Chapter Text

Saparata was defeated.

There was nothing he could do anymore.

Flux won.

Saps lost.

This was his island, his world.

And Saps was just someone he once knew.

Out in the biting snow, Saparata could feel his very blood freezing.

To die a frozen death is to die in shame.

But Saparata had nothing but shame,

For himself, for his friend, for the people he’d failed.

He didn’t even know why he kept walking.

There was no end to the island, not for miles. He’d starve by the time he even got close. It was hopeless.

But he just kept putting one foot in front of the other.

He didn’t want to die on someone else’s land.

He didn’t want to die on Fluixon’s land.

Ish was watching over him, he could feel it.

Saps was certain that was why he hadn’t died yet.

He was certain that’s why he’d made it to the end of the island.

Numbly, he laid a boat in the water and climbed inside.

His stiff fingers clutched the oars and he began to row.

There should’ve been an end to the world.

A barrier that would make Saps know he had no choice but to face the music or sever his ears.

But there wasn’t.

He almost stopped rowing, but his fingers stuck to the oars as if they were made of slime.

Ish must have taken pity on him to give him a way out.

Thank you, Ish.

The seas changed.

Becoming impossibly deep and entirely enticing.

Saparata paid it no mind.

Water was nothing without land.

The water on Yggdrasil didn’t boil without the volcano.

The first sign of land was a sandy beach with a small structure on it.

Not naturally generated, couldn't be.

But he trusted the land enough to put his feet on it.

He almost fell. Boating for so long made him lose sense of how to move his legs.

No matter, he entered the structure.

It was a dolphin highway, had to be. But with no water breathing it was useless.

The only thing it provided was what looked like an endless tunnel.

But Saps had nothing but time.

So he started to walk.

He didn’t know how long it took to see the sun again.

But it was so painfully blinding he almost wished he never had to.

Then he realized he had made it to land.

He was able to flee.

He was…

free

A player walked up to him and punched him.

They wrote on a sign “who are you?”

Saps cleared his throat and spoke. “I’m uhh, Saparata. I go by Saps.”

The player stared at him.

“Where am I?”

They broke the sign and wrote on it:

“The Unstable SMP”
