Summary
Lews Therin Telamon sealed the Bore and broke the world in his grief. Rand al’Thor fought the Dark One directly, reforging the bars of his prison for another Age. Aldran of the Vale isn’t the Dragon or the Dragon Reborn. He’s just a fourteen-year-old goatherd, trying to keep his flock from wandering off into the mountains. But his soul bears the scars of greatness, and some part of him knows that it’s only a matter of time before the Wheel weaves away this simple, peaceful life.
Then raiders come for his mother, and something old, patient, and terrible finally answers.

Alternatively: Rand al’Thor dies in truth when he reforges the Pattern imprisoning the Dark One. He accidentally weaves himself too deeply into the Wheel. When his soul is reborn, Aldran is burdened with the memories of Lews Therin and Rand al’Thor. And in this life, just as the last, Aldran cannot escape the weight of prophecy.
