   Summary

When Hiccup Haddock lands his dream internship at one of the country's largest aquariums, he believes he will finally have the chance to study what he has always loved: the ocean.

What he didn't expect to find behind the glass was the greatest discovery of his life.

Kept as the aquarium's main attraction, Jack is a creature who defies everything Hiccup has learned about marine life. Mysterious, curious, and seemingly as human as anyone else, the merman quickly sparks the young biologist's interest.

What begins as a simple friendship between two different worlds soon evolves into something deeper.

But the more Hiccup gets to know Jack, the more he realizes something is wrong.

Jack didn't choose to live in that aquarium.

And as the two grow closer, Hiccup begins to question just how far he would go to give the boy on the other side of the glass what he desires most:

   freedom.
