And then, when her eyes were about to yield to sweet death, something eclipsed her. A dense, immense shadow appeared in her field of vision, garments billowing against the wind. In that moment, between her weak heartbeats and in her last remnants of consciousness, she glimpsed a blue glow beneath the hood. The whole world went quiet, growing more and more distant, comfortable and numb to everything that had once agonized her. Before losing her last remnants of dying consciousness, her mind projected an idea. It did not materialize as a thought. It never could.
What passed through her mind was a poignant and primitive feeling, like a sudden understanding that cleared her senses. A sensation as though her entire life had been dedicated to seeing that blue, which in that brief instant, she swore was the most beautiful and purest blue she had ever had the true pleasure of beholding, even in death.
Her mind then collapsed.
And death was about to touch her lips to eternalize her frozen.
But that is not what happened.
