Summary:

”Maybe I can show you instead of telling?”

Notes:

This doesn't have anything to do with real life or real people.

Work Text:

Kimi. Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Torger Wolff’s precious child. The golden boy of his generation.

George sometimes lies awake at night, hating Kimi from the bottom of his heart.

But only sometimes. Because Kimi is his pup. Someone he fiercely wants to protect, and in his long discussions with Max he had understood that two things could be true at the same time. They could be fierce rivals on track, and still share a softness in a nest, talking about everything on earth.

He had understood things about Max in the last eighteen months too. That understanding had led to George accepting a courting bracelet, a band of blue and silver diamonds around his wrist.

”A courting offer?” George is not sure what he is seeing or why Kimi is showing the basket to him. It smells wrong though. Not like hopeful affection, but like an alpha who wants to own, dominate, break, and breed.

”It has been going on for a while now.” The younger omega licks his own lips, unsure and frozen.

”Kimi, please. Talk to me.”

”Maybe I can show you instead of telling?”

Anything if it triggers the tension in the room, and George can breathe again. Kimi goes to his luggage, pulling out a normal envelope.

Photographs. Dozens of photographs. The pictures have captured Kimi in situations in which he had no idea that a camera eye was following his every step. George sees his own carefree figure in some frames too. He is holding a hand on Kimi’s lower back, or leaning towards him, focused on their discussion.

”I should have said something earlier. It’s an alpha. Now he sent the courting gift.”

George’s chest is ice cold, when he understands what he is seeing. Someone has been watching Kimi. Following him, getting way too close to him, and nobody has known that the barrier protecting them from unwanted attention is leaking like this.

It could also be someone at Mercedes, a person who is supposed to be safe, neutral at least. Someone wants to hurt Kimi, use his omega against him, and George has to keep that person away.

”I’m going to talk to Toto.”

”George, please.”

George can understand him not wanting to be a nuisance, or cause a fuss – it’s not simple to be an omega, especially that young omega at this sport, no matter how much everyone on the team adores and respects him, but telling Toto would ease George’s fear at least partially.

”Baby. I’m sorry, but we can’t hide something like this. You need a better security. We need to reconsider the fan interactions. Toto has to know so he can protect you.”

His whole body is shaking. George sits down on the small sofa, and spreads his arms, offering a freely given hug, but giving Kimi space to reject it too.

He throws himself in George’s arms, burying his face in the older omega’s shoulder. He is teary now, the salty drops leaving their mark on George’s shirt.

”I’m sorry.”

”Nothing to apologize for. Max, and I and Toto are going to protect you.”

George is aching for his alpha, wanting Max to wrap his strong arms around him, and promise it would be alright. Max would keep their pup safe.
