Summary
'His mama had read him a story a few nights ago. It had quite a sad ending, the main character having turned into sea foam after the prince fell in love with someone else. But she was the same creature as the boy in the water below him.
Not in his wildest dreams did Jamie ever think mermaids were real.'
;or, James Buchanan Barnes, the human, and Samuel Wilson, the mermaid, meet as children on the piers of Brooklyn and fall in love as they get older. When Bucky has to go to war, he promises to return to Sam by any means necessary. Little did either of them know, fate had other plans for them. They see different versions of each other as decades go by, but nothing would ever change what they mean to each other.
