Summary
Peter Parker has spent years insisting that no one gets to decide who deserves to die.
Not Frank Castle. Not the Avengers. Not even Spider-Man.
Then, at four in the morning, with rain against his bedroom window and an old sitcom playing softly in the dark, Peter sends Frank a name.
Skip Wescott.
He doesn't explain who the man is. He doesn't explain what happened when he was younger, or why affection has never felt quite as simple to him as it seems to everyone else. Frank doesn't ask. He only makes sure Peter understands what giving him that name means.
Peter does.
By morning, Skip Wescott is gone.
Peter expects relief. Instead, he discovers that revenge cannot return the child he used to be, erase the memories he carries, or make him feel safe inside his own life again. And as Spider-Man grows quieter, his friends begin to notice that something bright in Peter Parker has dimmed.
A character study about guilt, lost innocence, revenge, and the unbearable realization that sometimes getting what you wanted doesn't make anything hurt less.
