Summary
This story follows the same rise, rivalry, and slow-burn collision between Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov — but this time, Shane has a sister.
Caitlin Hollander has spent her whole life watching her brother from the sidelines. She knows his tells better than anyone.
From World Juniors to draft night to their first NHL seasons, the world sees two prodigies destined to clash. Headlines call them rivals. Analysts compare every stat. The tension is loud, public, marketable.
Caitlin sees something else.
When Ilya Rozanov enters the picture. He is magnetic, relentless, constitutionally incapable of pretending to feel less than he does and she notices the shift before anyone else does. While the league builds a narrative of enemies, she watches the space between her brother and his fiercest rival fill with something far more complicated. Lingering looks. Restlessness. A name spoken differently than the others.
Told from the sidelines, this is the same story of Shane and Ilya, just seen by someone close enough to notice that the fiercest rivalries don't always look like hate.
Sometimes they look like inevitability.
