Una laughed. “I just think it's interesting timing. You and Spock have just broken up, and now Jim Kirk is going to be on board for almost two whole weeks.”
“James treats this ship like his own personal shuttle service,” La’an reminded her. “You've said so yourself, numerous times.”
“And I stand by it. That boy is never on his own ship.”
Una’s smile was impish, and try as she might, La'an couldn't actually be cross with her, despite how annoying she found this line of questioning.
“I have no intention of dating James Kirk,” La’an said definitively.

Cmdr. James T. Kirk, first officer of the USS Farragut, is once again hanging out on the starship Enterprise. This time, he is joining them for the two week journey to Vulcan where he'll be meeting his own ship. La'an, newly single, is excited to spend some time with her handsome friend. But with tensions high between her and Spock post-break up, and something obviously going on between Spock and Kirk, the last thing she needs is a routine mission going awry and throwing all their lives into chaos.
