The Breaking of the Tadpole Party

Summary:

Written for RHoBG’s fall-themed 100 word Drabble event. Today’s prompt was “leaves.”

Thalassa (Tav) reflects on her journey as she leaves Baldur’s Gate.

Notes:

Yes, this is using leaves as a verb and not a noun. It counts!

Work Text:

Baldur’s Gate still smoldered while Thalassa packed away her gear for the last time.

Karlach and Wyll had been the first to depart, and soon she and Gale would leave for Waterdeep.  Jaheira had insisted that they go now, otherwise they would inevitably get tied up in the rebuild effort and never make it out of the city.

Thalassa took in the Elfsong, sighing as she adjusted her pack. She never thought she would be sad to leave a city, ever favoring the wilderness.  Now, she grieved the friends—the family—she built here.

But in every end, there is a beginning.
