    "Just tonight," Aaron interrupted, his voice steady, though a muscle feathered tight in his jaw. He reached out, his thumb lightly brushing the edge of Spencer's jawline. It was a touch so deliberate, so uncharacteristically bold, that Spencer shuddered. "No rules. No badge. Just us."

    Spencer looked up into those dark eyes, every fiber of his being screaming that this was a line they could never uncross, and knowing, with absolute certainty, that he didn't want to.

    "My place." Spencer whispered.

    Aaron didn't hesitate. He dropped his hand, his fingers briefly curling around Spencer's wrist in a firm, grounding grip before he stepped back. "Get your coat."
