Summary
Shiro noticed before everyone else.
It hadn’t been obvious at first. Just little things that one wouldn’t pick up on unless they were looking.
Shiro, of course- was looking. Some days all he could do was look at Lance. He was mesmerized. When the other laughed it was like everything came into orbit and when he told a story, everyone in the vicinity couldn’t help being enraptured.
Shiro was never able to resist the Blue Paladin’s charms. He didn’t need to either.
It had been such tiny insignificant things, things that could be ignored. Shiro was guilting of doing just that. There’s just been so much suffering in his life that he actively chose his battles. The most important being the one against Zarkon and the Galra. Maybe if he really looked at his priorities he would have seen the signs for what they were. Red flags.
It started small.
