Chapter Text
"Come on guys, I seriously have no idea how I'm supposed to confess to him." Mike was stressing out over his messy love for Will. "You've got this dude, I'm sure he's going to be yours." Lucas encouraged. They were in Mike's basement. It was Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Eddie and Steve. Max and Eleven were with Nancy doing girl stuff, or that's what the boys would like to call it.
"Steve, Eddie...why don't you give me some advice? You two are literally dating." The ravenette grumbled.
"Huh, oh we just...I dunno, got real close and started kissing and Stevie was kissing me back."
"That isn't helpful, oh my GOD!"
"Why are you acting like such a baby? It's just a confession, I'm sure Will would like you back." Dustin tried to calm him down.
Will entered the basement casually. "Hey guys, came back I just needed to get some homework done upstairs. What are you all talking about?"
The entire room went quiet for about thirty seconds and Will suddenly felt a stack of embarrassment piling up. "Guys?" The brunette raised his eyebrows. "Oh, um, heyyy! How was your homework?" Dustin gave him one hell of a pat on the back. "It was pretty easy. I haven't had much things on my mind recently so I was able to do it easily."
"Yeah, that's cool! That's cool. We were planning to go to Starcourt Mall tomorrow. You going?" As Lucas's and Will's conversation began, the room became less quiet. "Sure, I don't have much to do tomorrow anyways."
Mike and Will hadn't talked as they did before for at least 3 days and Will was a little worried. He used his crutches to get to Mike and Mike helped him down. "Hey, you don't need to do that anymore silly." Will chuckled. "Yeah...haha. Anyways, I've been meaning to ask you if you could meet me up as soon as we're done in Starcourt."
The others were cheering him on behind Mike and teasing him. "Oh, sure. What do you wanna talk about?"
"I'll tell you when we're there." Mike whispered. Will wasn't sure how to feel about this, was he going to stop being friends with him? Or maybe...confess? Or rather even ma-
7:30PM, they were finally at Starcourt Mall. The two Eddie and Steve were pretty late though...and so was Mike. "How long do we have to wait?" Max said rolling her eyes, she was getting tired of standing for so long. "There they are."
"Sorry I'm late guys." Mike got off his bicycle and immediately went to Will. "Heyyy, Willy Will." Mike put his arm on Will's neck. "Don't call me that, idiot!" Will replied, smiling way more than he had before Mike came. They were completely ignoring the others...and the fact that they were looking at them, including Steve and Eddie. "Will, Mike, let's go! We're seriously going to leave you behind." Dustin shouted and they went in the mall, the two quickly following along.
They decided to watch a horror movie. Though Will wasn't fond of horror movies, he decided not to complain and to just watch. He was sitting with Mike. Lucas, Max, Dustin, and Eleven behind. Steve and Eddie were 3 rows behind. Will and Mike looked at each other for a couple of seconds and then looked away. Mike had absolutely no idea how he was going to be confessing to Will, and he spent the entire movie trying to figure out how. He wasn't exactly sure of how to express his feelings of affection, he never saw his parents like this, and with Eleven...he didn't know how he did it.
It was stressful, and the credits started playing and everyone was clapping. "No...No way." Mike whispered to himself. "Mike?" Will looked at him with the most adorable eyes ever. "Yeah, what's wrong?"
"The thing you wanted to say."
Oh God...Mike's heart dropped. Maybe today wasn't the right day? No...he needed to do this, he can't wait any longer. What if Will actually likes him back? He should shoot his shot.
And so he did.
"I like you, Will. Like- not as a friend, not as a best friend, but like I want you to be my boyfriend I guess, and I realized that after breaking up- I love you and...um, will you go out...with me?" He got quieter saying the last words.
"Oh...uh-" Mike's heart was beating in his ears and head and everywhere. He looked calm, but it would be so awkward if Will didn't like him back.
"I like you too...Mike, like further than best friends."
Mike looked straight at him as soon as he said that. "You're not joking? Like...this isn't a prank or anything?" Mike tried to make sure. "I should be the one asking that, I thought you were straight Michael." Will said, "So does that make us boyfriends?" Mike asked, "Um, I guess so."
Mike smiled before grabbing Will's shoulders and pulling him into a kiss, which Will gratefuly accepted and he kissed him back.
"You're such a bad kisser, Will." Mike said jokingly. "Shut up, I'm sure you've been waiting for this moment." Will chuckled.
"Finally!" Max said, there was clapping behind her and giggling. "Are you guys serious?" Mike groaned. "Yeah you bet we are."
Eleven smiled at them and was feeling all warm inside, happiness. She loved seeing them so happy, seeing her friends happy, everyone was happy and smiling and laughing. This is what she wanted, what they wanted, Vecna was never supposed to appear, or the Mind Flayer, or those Demogorgons...but at least she met them, and got to fight with them, and she gets to smile with them now.
They all get to smile with each other now, and it makes Will especially the happiest. Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Eleven, Will, Steve, Eddie. What a crazy couple of months and years.
