When Jason receives a text from his brother at one in the morning, he’s expecting to be on his knees, begging for his little brother to wake up. He’s expecting to bear the weight of a brother lost, to have to walk up to Bruce and let him know yet another—the only other being Jason himself—Robin is dead. He’s expecting for there to be more blood on his hands, in more ways than one.
What he isn’t expecting as he opens the door of his brother's bedroom, however, is to find Tim perfectly fine, and not actively dying.
Now Jason is puzzled.

Some frayed thread of self-control, worn thin by years of this bullshit, finally snaps. “I was always here, I was always ready for you to come home and act like family,” he spits back, heart pounding in his chest. “You were the ones who never wanted to be. Bruce Wayne has acted like more of a father to me than you ever have.”
Jack’s hands move from pinning his shoulders to wrapping around his throat in the space between heartbeats. Tim should be able to break the hold, easy. Should be able to push him away, strike his legs out from under him even without his bo staff to help him. He’s Robin.
Instead, cold ice spills through his veins, freezing him in place even as his windpipe buckles.

"You have hanahaki?!" Ochako screeches, and Izuku is suddenly very, very glad most of the dorm is out tonight—it's just him, Ochako, Tenya, and Shouto sprawled over the couch, and Katsuki studying in the kitchen. "What the hell?! How long?!"
"Um." Izuku thinks for a minute before leaning over the back of the couch. "Hey, Kacchan! Was it your sixth birthday or seventh when I started coughing up flowers?"
"It was my eighth, nerd," Katsuki calls back, not even looking up from his homework. "We went camping that year."
He snickers before adding, "Auntie thought you'd eaten the poison ivy."
Izuku turns back to the wide-eyed looks of shock on his friends' faces.
"Ten years, then," he tells them casually. "Wow, that's such a long time. A whole decade! Time sure does fly."
