Chapter Text

Sanic: just got beat 🤪

No: do you need help?

Sanic: maybe a little

Sanic: i don't think anyone can come get me without alerting the parentals though.

babie: omw flash, find a safe place to hide in your room and ill be at the window in 10 minutes. we’ll swing over a few streets and then walk to mays place, is that alright?

Sanic: perfect, just hurry, please

babie: be there as soon as i can

No: pm me flash

No to Sanic

No: i want you to know that i am here for you whenever you need. i was in a similar situation when i was younger and i can relate at least a little bit. though i was poor and didn’t have to keep up appearances in public, i still have a bit of trauma. so any time you need someone to talk to about this, i’m here for you. everyone is, but i thought someone who could understand might help

Sanic: thank you mj, i really needed that

Sanic: my parents have been going off the rails recently

Sanic: they've just been really stressed about work things and have been taking it out on me. and it doesn't help that i have a boyfriend now. they're not the best allies

No: i'm sorry. I would say you're welcome to stay with me any time, but my house isn't the best place for visitors. But peter’s is. May’s house is constantly open to help, and so is tonys. just stay with him for a while, and try not to go back to your parents no matter how they bribe you to come back.

Sanic: peters here, ill talk to you later?

No: let me know when ur safe

Flash stood from their hiding spot on the floor and tip toed over to the window, shoving it open. Peter sat on the lip of the window in his Spider-Man suit and held out an arm to Flash. They grabbed their overnight bag from the floor and climbed onto Peter’s back. Peter closed the window and webbed to a nearby building, getting a height advantage before swinging streets over until the two were in a nearby park.

Peter landed and let Flash down. The teenager was breathing heavily and immediately grabbed Peter for a hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.” Flash repeated until he was sobbing into his friend's shoulder. Peter didn’t seem to mind at all and held onto Flash tight, whispering “You’re okay. I’m here.” to him.

When Flash finally let go, the two collapsed on a bench. “I’m not safe in my own home.”

“I know. You should be, but you’re not.”

“I should be.”

“You’ll be safe in my home, though. Let’s get going. May is only a subway ride from here. You’re spending the night.”

Flash nodded methodically, allowing themself to be led through the streets into the subway station. Peter’s hand was held tightly in their own, grounding them with quick squeezes every minute or so. A gentle reminder that Flash was with someone who would keep them safe.

The two got on the train and sat as far away as they could from everyone. It wasn’t too crowded, due to the time of day, but Peter still sat as a guard, on watch for the slightest wrong move toward the two. “This is our stop.”

Flash stood as the train came to a stop and practically dragged onto the platform and up the stairs.

“Almost there.” Peter said, walking alongside Flash until the two reached Peter’s apartment. They were greeted at the door by a young woman with a kind face. Aunt May. Flash thought, accepting the short hug and following her inside.

“You can stay in Peter’s room tonight, but we can find a more permanent setup later. If Tony finds out about this he’ll force you to stay at the tower, but we’ll get you comfortable here first.” May opens the door to a room that is so painfully Peter. Posters and Lego everywhere. Old computers made from scratch and a big case in the corner with a Spider-Suit in it. There’s a blow-up mattress on the floor and it’s sudden to Flash what’s really happening.

“More… permanent?” He asked, turning to May, who nods.

“You’re staying with us as long as you need honey, and from what I hear, it’s gonna be a while.”

“I shouldn’t, my parents will be looking for me after a week or so.”

“If they’re looking after a week and not 5 hours, they shouldn’t be parents. You’re staying here till we say you aren’t.”

Flash’s jaw drops and tears well up in their eyes. “Thank you, May.” their voice was hoarse and barely came out a whisper.

“We got your back honey.” She gave them a tight hug and walked down the hall. “I’ll make you something to eat, get comfortable.”

Flash nodded and sat on the air mattress, pulling out their phone. The lock screen was covered in notifications from every messaging site he had. They laughed at the sheer worry of their friends.

Sanic: i'm alright, i'm staying with may and peter now. indefinitely it seems.

Mom: oh thank the lord jesus almighty

Got goat?: we thought you died, flash

B-Abe: screaming crying glad you're okay

Cindy-Ella: Sally called me and was like “what if they died” like that's not funny miss girl but okay you cope like you

*hacker voice* I’m in: i've been on vc with mj for an hour, what happened??

Sanic: peter came and got me and we went to mays (spoiler alert: she's the sweetest thing youll ever meet i can't believe i didn't meet her sooner) and now she's like “you're staying with us until you graduate” type shit idrk whats going on

*hacker voice* I’m in: she's always been like that, once i was sick and my parents didn't want me getting anyone else in the family sick so i stayed with may for like a week cause she didn't care if peter got sick

babie: i did get sick :(

No: may let me stay there for a month when my parents went on a trip to france and i had school

Mom: may let me have a breakdown in her living room during a study session with peter when i realized how bad i was at math

Mom: she just offered me chips when i was done crying

Cindy-Ella: abe and i stayed there for a three day sleepover when we had to get a project in for NYSSEF last year

B-Abe: and the same thing three years ago with our stark expo young inventors project that won 1st in our category

babie: may just likes to host, i can't do anything about it. She just cares for people. If i weren't around she’d probably work in like an orphanage or a elderly care home.

Got goat?: may sent me home with a tupperware of cookies when i mentioned my sister having the flu

Got goat?: she couldn't even eat the cookies like a loser

babie: we in constant gratefulness for our collective hostess and caretaker: May Parker

babie: flash passed out, we’ll keep you update on their situation as much as they’re comfortable with, but they’re safe and comfortable!! talk to yall later
