Chapter Text
Kirk was running out of the party when they ran right smack into Uhura and Christine. They had made the two late to the party obviously.
“Jamie? Where are you going?” Uhura asked as she caught them in her arms. “I- Bones- Spock- they-“ Jamie tried to rush out. The thoughts were going by too fast to catch. They just shook their head as the tears started coming “Ugh god why am I crying!?”
Christine gave them a look of sympathy. “It’s a side effect of the hypo. You’re probably overly sensitive and emotional right now,” She said as Jamie continued to sob. Their breathing becoming labored as the panic set in.
“I’ve ruined everything! Spock and Bones-“ Jamie couldn’t finish the thought.
“What did those two idiots do?” Christine asked
“I- I don’t know- I saw them kissing after the both danced with me and- and- I stupidly thought that maybe one or both had feelings for me-“ Jamie said.
Christine and Uhura shared a look. “Those idiots. I told them to talk to you-“ Christine grumbled.
“Come on Kirk we’ve got two idiots to find.” Uhura said as she led Kirk to find them.
“No I don’t want to talk to them! Spock doesn’t even know it’s me-“ Jamie complained.
“Oh trust me. If Leonard knows then Spock definitely knows” Christine said as she pulled them over to the pair of idiots who were looking for Kirk.
“Oh Jamie there you are!” Bones said.
“Leonard H. McCoy you’re an idiot! Did you listen to anything I told you to do!” Christine asked before slapping the man on the back of his head. Spock raised an eyebrow and his lips twitched a bit.
“Oh don’t think that you’re not in trouble either Spock!” Uhura growled.
“We told you both to be direct and straight forward and what did you do? You confused your poor friend and had them in tears!” Christine yelled.
Jamie’s face turned red. “Did we really have to tell them I cried?”
The smile that was on Bones face had fallen away. “Oh I’m sorry Jamie- I guess. Well yeah I didn’t do a very good explain’ myself did I?”
“We wish for you to be apart of our bond captain” Spock said.
Jamie looked between Spock and Bones and gave a laugh. “You guys are pulling my leg right?”
Bones frowned. “Why would we joke about somethin’ like that Jamie?”
Jamie’s heart was beating fast. “I mean it wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened to me so-“ Kirk shrugged.
“Your logical leap was to that?” Spock asked and Jamie nodded.
“Spock. I believe we may need to show Kirk just how serious we are. Ladies. We’re gonna take Jamie to a more quiet place and explain this to them…” Bones said as he put a hand on Jamie’s back.
“Finally!” Christine said as she crossed her arms. “Don’t mess it up this time leonard or so help me-“
Bones just gave her a wave before leading Jamie and Spock to his quarters. The door had barely closed before Bones pulled Kirk into his arms and kissed then deeply.
Kirk’s arms wrapped around McCoy as they kissed him back. McCoy was an amazing kisser. Their lips moved in sync and Kirk couldn’t help but feel like their lips fit together perfectly.
McCoy pulled back from Kirk. “Does this still seem like a joke to you?” He asked as he leaned his forehead against Kirk’s. “No…” Kirk breathed out breathlessly.
“If I may interrupt…” Spock said as he wrapped his hand around Kirk’s wrist and pulled Kirk to him gently. “I would also like to show you that I am not joking.”
That was all the warning Kirk got before Spock began to kiss him. Kissing McCoy had felt firey and warm like the sun. Kissing Spock felt soft and cold like the moon. Kirk could definitely get used to both of these feelings.
Spock pulled back and Kirk took a deep breath. Kirk couldn’t help the smile that found it’s way on their face. “So what do you think? Do you want to date us?” Bones asked.
Jamie snorted. “I thought the making out with both of you was my anwser. Of Course I want to be with both of you.”
Bones laughed and Spock’s lips twitched.
Jamie shifted their weight from one foot to the other. “But are you guys still going to want me when I don’t look like or if I decide that I want to look like this all the times or sometimes- and is the gender confusion going to be hard for you. Are you still going to be able to see me as a male if i decide i feel that way-“
“Jamie.” Spock said “You’re spiraling with illogical anxious human thoughts. Of course we’re still going to want you no matter how you decide to present. We’re attracted to you. Your bravery. Intelligence. personality. Not how you look.”
Bones gave a nod. “We want you for you Kirk. It doesn’t matter if you decide to be Jim Kirk or Jamie Kirk or if you decide to rotate between the two or if you decide to use a different name or identify differently. We want Captain Kirk. The idiot who leaps before they think. The idiot who cares so intensely for their crew that they continually put themself in harms way to save the crew.”
Kirk’s heart felt warm as they looked at their two partners. Yes it didn’t matter what gender Kirk decided to be. What mattered was that they had people around who accepted them and they were happy.
