Chapter Text
The person- creature?- stared down at him, wide eyes unblinking as small wings twitched behind its body.
Izuku could feel his breathing speed up as they stared at each other blankly, the creature stopping in its approach barely a foot away.
"What-" Izuku started with a choked voice, taking note at how the creature seemed to flinch back from the sound of his voice. "What are you..?"
The pink creature didn't respond, not that Izuku expected them to, but they did move closer. He swallowed nervously as a small pink hand neared him, knowing his wounds would stop him from flinching back or running. The creatures eyes were wide and watching, taking in his every reaction until it's fingers pressed against his face, and a nauseous feeling settled in his stomach.
The pink creature- alien? it must be- mumbled something in a soft, high voice, but not in any language Izuku could understand. It reached its other hand out, small wings fluttering overtime on its back, and moved both its hands under his arms, lifting him up and-
And Izuku started floating.
His breath hitched as his body lifted up, eyes wide with fascination as he looked down, watching his body float about a foot above the ground, held in place only by the aliens hands.
"How are you doing this?" He asked, voice quiet and full of wonder. He lifted his eyes to look into the aliens own, a wide grin slowly spreading on his face. "This is so cool!"
The alien seemed to flinch back slightly at his smile, but didn't let go, just making a small nervous noise and looking away. It spun him around midair so his back faced it, its hands tracing lightly over the bleeding wounds on his back. To its credit, it pulled away the second Izuku's breath hitched in pain, spinning him back upright to face him again, it's eyes wide with what Izuku assumed was worry.
"I'm okay," He tried to assure it, hoping his gentle tone would get his message across the language barrier. "I just.. I gotta get back to my dad."
He pointed vaguely in the direction they came from, his body relaxing as the alien seemed to take the hint, holding tightly onto his arm as it slowly started making its way back through the forest.
The pink alien seemed to grow more relaxed as they moved, keeping its worried brown eyes on the boy as it dragged him through the air, somehow remembering the way back to the Midoriya's impromptu campsite.
Silence filled their journey, only broken by Izuku's own laboured breathing or the soft drip of his blood on the forest floor. Vaguely, he realized he should definitely be worried about his blood loss, but his brain had put that on the back burner, instead focusing entirely on the mysterious alien helping him.
It was shorter than him, though not by much, and it seemed relatively human-like, if he could ignore the oddly coloured skin and small fairy-like wings fluttering quickly from its back.
Now that he thought about it, maybe that was how the floating worked? It's wings had only started flapping after it had touched him, after he had started floating, and they don't seem to be lifting the alien itself off of the ground. But how does that work? A gravitational pull? Weird alien magic? God, Izuku wished he could just *understand* the alien, to be able to ask it all of his questions-
A shout from somewhere ahead of them broke him out of his pondering, and he realized he had been mumbling. He shared a confused look with the alien, before the shout happened again and- and he could recognize that worried yell anywhere. They found his dad.
"Dad!" He yelled back, trying to twist painfully in the air to set his feet back on the ground. The alien helped him, setting him down to sit on the ground before flinching as his dad called his name back in response.
"Izuku?" His dads voice was closer this time, and the alien took a nervous step back, wings slowing to a stop on its back as it stop Izuku's floating.
"N-No, just wait.." Izuku started, holding a hand out to stop the alien running away. "It's my dad, he won't hurt you."
But of course, it doesn't understand, pulling out of Izuku's grasp in a panic, running back into the woods. Izuku's begging was cut off by the sound of heavy boots hitting the forest floor, and his dad finally came back into sight.
"Izuku? Oh my god- oh my god, Izuku what happened?" His dads voice was panicked as he noticed the blood, his eyes wide and angry. "What were you thinking? Running off like that!"
"No, dad, we gotta go after-"
"No!" His dad cuts him off loudly, gripping his arm as he twists the boys body to examine the wounds on his back. "Izuku just stop. Shit- I gotta get you back. Your mother was right, this was a bad plan."
Izuku's eyes widened at his words, tears filling his eyes as his dad hoists him up into his arms, setting off back towards the cabin.
"What do you mean? We can't go home, dad! Not when it's still in there-"
"Just stop. Please, Izuku." He freezes at his dads tone. He was nearly pleading as he moved quickly through the forest, and when Izuku looked up, he noticed tears forming in his fathers eyes. "I thought I lost you. I thought-"
"Dad..?" Izuku whispered softly, his eyes worried. The world around him seemed to spin and fade, the corners of his vision turning black.
"Fuck" He heard his dad whisper, his voice frustrated and worried and strained with barely contained panic. "You've lost so much blood, Izuku."
Izuku mumbled something in response, but he couldn't remember what, his head feeling heavier by the second. A small whine came from his throat as he couldn't hear his dads response. Couldn't hear the cabin door being flung open. Could only think about the pink alien, its scared brown eyes the last thought on his mind before everything faded away.
