Chapter Text

“Hey Miles?” Peter asked after they lapsed into silence. Miles hummed out his response. “Do the Avengers exist in your universe?”

Miles sat up quickly, “The Avengers exist in yours?! They are just comics here!” Peter looked at Miles with wide eyes. “Yeah, Iron Man and Captain America are the most fought over comics because people are stupid and can’t like them both at the same time.”

“No way…” Peter mumbled. In his universe, they were both comics and real people. And people did fight over who was better constantly.

Miles had a questioning look in his eyes, “Why do you ask? Do you know them?” The questioning look also had a look of wonder, as if he wanted to know what they were like.

Peter nodded, “Yeah, they were sort of like family to me. But most of them are dead now and I can’t look at the ones who are alive in the eyes because I just feel so guilty.”  Peter had never admitted that to anyone, mainly because he has no one to admit it to, but it felt good to finally get that off his chest.

“If you don’t mind me asking, why do you feel guilty? You weren’t, like, the cause of their deaths right?” Miles asked after a moment of silence. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry if that sounded like I was accusing you, I just really want to know. You don’t have to say anything if you’re not comfortable!” He said, waving his hands frantically in the air when he realized how he phrased the question.

Peter chuckled. “It’s alright. I didn’t kill them but I couldn’t stop their deaths from happening, you know? It felt like Uncle Ben, but so much worse because they genuinely felt like family to me, even if I only knew them for 3 years.”

“Man, I’m so sorry you had to go through that.”

Peter was about to respond when a black hole opened in his view, a few miles away but close enough that he could see it. “What the hell is that thing?!” Peter shouted, his sixth sense going off like crazy.

Miles didn’t respond, he just turned around with a look of pure fear and hatred on his face. He swung down so he could see it closer. Peter followed because he had no idea what is going on. He had so many questions, who is that? What is that thing? What is it doing?

All of his questions were left unanswered because he heard Miles mumble, “Why won’t he just leave me alone, man?”

Peter had so many questions and no answers. Miles knows the person who made the black hole? Wait, is it a person or a monster? Someone really needs to give him something to work with, he’s really lost here.

Then, out of the blue, another portal-looking thing opened right above them. It looked like the one Peter got sucked into. He tapped Miles on the shoulder so he could look at who was coming out of the portal. Miles, who had been serious, brightened up a bit.

“Miles!” A female voice called from the portal. The girl walked out of the portal and Miles ran up to her and hugged her tight. Peter looked away because it reminded him of himself and MJ. He really missed her and her views of the government and her opinion of the world.

Another figure stepped out of the portal, it was a male. He had a spider-man suit on with a pink robe on top and a baby carrier attached. There was, in fact, a baby in the carrier. He looked rather old, older than the girl and Miles. Soon, a whole bunch of spider people came out of the portal and Peter stood there, awkwardly and in awe.

The group was exchanging greetings and how they haven’t seen each in so long. Peter stood a bit behind them, not knowing what to do. He could hear the joy in their voices and he could see the light in their eyes. It felt like he was imposing, so he turned and looked away. Looking away meant analyzing the black hole that randomly spawned in the city.

If he focused enough, he could see the figure of a person standing in the middle of it. The person looked warped. He looked like he had a black jumpsuit on with small white swirls over it. The swirls seemed to move with the person, weirdly enough.

“Peter, come meet my friends!” Miles shouted, beckoning him over to the group. Peter was standing a little bit farther so they could have their moment.

“Alright so this is my awesome inter-dimensional girlfriend, Gwen Stacy!” Miles said, while Gwen blushed and gave a salute.

“This is Hobie Brown!” The guy bowed before ruffling Miles’s hair.

“Pavitr Prabhakar!” Miles and him shared a fist bump.

“Peter Porker!” The pig snorted. Peter looked at him with a look of amazement, how do you even find out that there’s a pig version of you.

“Spider-Man Noir!” The man dramatically turned towards him. Peter felt a little weird.

“And this is Peni Parker!” The girl giggled and waved. Peter waved back.

Peter looked at the group, it was a group of drastically different people. The fact that they were all Spiderman was fascinating to him. Don’t get him wrong, Dr. Strange’s view of the multiverse was interesting enough, but it was obviously warped. There’s so much more to see with the different variants of spider-people.

Notes:
