You Bewitched Me.
Chapter ⅠⅠ ⇀ Flowers Today and Every Other Day.
- Expressoz
"You're such a moron, Madeleine. Now you have an overwhelming amount of... 'tree organs' in your hair."
Espresso scolded whilst scraping his fingertips through the twigs. Madeleine began to tap the tips of his toes together, childlike, the noise repeated every second. It distracted the mage greatly but decided to ignore it to the best of his abilities.
He gently pricked the leaves and sticks one-by-one, immediately stopping when he heard a pain hiss, then continuing again.
"You should've just tied your hair or I don't know... not climbed that Lost Monarch!?" He smacked the back of Madeleine's heard and received a small 'ow' in return.
"Climbed that... whaat?" The angel tried to turn back until Espresso grabbed both sides of his jaw, pushing him to look forward he continued his work.
"The tree, Maddie. You know the one that you mindlessly decided to climb yo the top of."
The tangles that sat in blonde wavy hair were no more. Espresso dragged his fingers through the soft tendrils of the knights hair, satisfied with the outcome and perfection.
"You said I could make it to the top without my wings, and I did just that!" Madeleine huffed and crossed his arms, staring daggers into his lover. "I don't understand why you're so upset. Are you not proud of me?!"
It gasped as if it was offended while it let itself fall into the grass.
"You wound me, Essy!!"
Madeleine rested the back of his hand on his forehead with a heartbroken expression.
Espresso rolled his eyes as he giggled along. "I never said I wasn't proud, Madeleine. I'm proud of you, truly, but I wish you did something with your hair before you climbed that damned tree. You got a bunch of shit in your hair that I have to get out!"
"I never forced you to! You don't have to take care of me, cher, I am a grown man!!"
The knight pouted. It looked at the other with a scrunched up angry face; he threw a muffin at Espresso when he began giggling again.
"A grown man who pays taxes and acts more like a child than some of the children that live here." He commented. The mage reached into his satchel, beginning to knot and braid a few flower stems he picked earlier that afternoon.
"I'll just take that as a compliment." Madeleine huffed before he leaned back up to sit on the checkered blanket.
Espresso was careful enough not to break the fragile greens of flowers as the crown began to develop. "Espressooo..." The Knight Commander whined, dragging the o's in his name. "I'm bored, entertain me." He put all his weight on his beloved as he hugged them tight.
They both fell back with an 'oof' before Espresso started to yell at him again. "You're going to break the flower stems. Watch it!!"
It was then Madeleine's turn to laugh. It was as loud and hearty as it always was—just as Espresso liked it—.
He took the flower crown from out of slim hands, placing it on his own head with a proud smile. The crown was various colors of whites and pastels; different flowers ranging from Baby's Breath to Asters, and White Carnations to Irises that adorned the links of green.
"How do I look?" The knight asked, turning his head left and right with his eyes closed to give the professor a better look. Espresso grabbed both of his cheek, examining him to make up his mind.
"It looks fine, but it's missing something." He looked for a few seconds longer as the cogs in his brain maneuvered around to function thoughts. "Do you mind if I braid your hair?"
Madeleine looked up into the mage's pale pink eyes, seemingly snapping out of the fact he was zoned out, daydreaming.
His cheeks turned a blush rose whilst he nodded frantically in approval. "Yes, please," The angel turned around. His back faced the professor as he began to munch on the muffin he threw at him just minutes beforehand.
Espresso dragged his fingers, again, through the wavy blonde hair just as he'd done before. He then separated his hair into three separate sections. He moved the sections around each other in a dance until he reached near the end of his long hair. He placed a spare light pink ribbon from his bag near the bottom of the braid to make the structure of the style stable.
The mage moved his hands away from the angel's hair before lightly tapping on its shoulder.
"Madelle?" He called before tapping him again when he got no response. "I'm finished with your hair. You can get up now."
Madeleine grumbled, obviously giving off the fact he was about half asleep and most likely wanted to rest right there while the latter played with his hair, but he figured that would have to wait until another time.
But later, they had then become now as they ended up cuddled close and wisping away into slumber.
