"Duke Thomas." Duke stuck a hand out to Dick, but quickly dropped it after only receiving a cold glare in response. "M–my other dad dropped me off and left."
"Your . . . other dad?" Dick squinted at him. "You have two dads? What, your mom couldn't stay faithful to one?"
Duke scowled at him before answering. "No. I lived with foster parents before now. And then, this guy shows up in my dreams one day. Says he's my dad."
"So you think a fever dream you had once makes you Bruce Wayne's son?" Dick sat back and crossed his arms. "I'm not seeing the connection here."
OR
Duke, son of Apollo and Bruce Wayne shows up at the manor one day. Dick doesn't handle it all too well.

"No." He groaned, pushing him up weakly. His arms gave out on him, and he collapsed back on the frozen ground. He reached a shaky arm out toward he beast he recognized as the Manticore, core warmed with hatred and vengeance of the monster who brought Nico and his sister so violently into their world. He didn't deserve to live. "No." ~~

"Funny fic idea would be "Billionaire Bruce Wayne drops by the Watchtower to check on his investment". Clark spots him and makes a beeline all, "there you are" and then spots the tux and the reporter and clams his jaw shut before entering Superman mode. For the rest of the day, he and Diana struggle to not refer to him as Batman or act too familiar as he acts super duper bubbly and nearly goads Ollie into giving away his secret identity. Hal finds him hilarious and Idiotic in equal measure and shit talks Batman to him."
Or in other words: the watchtower is screwed, clark is screwed, and bruce is definitely going to kill him after this.

Summary
A one shot collection that fills in the gaps of Castiel's journey and his relationship with Dean.
Intentionally canon compliant, but with a Destiel twist using my own head canon for things canon doesn't discuss or leaves vague; bridging the subtext to actual text.
The two Explicit entries, one for violence and one for smut, can be skipped if preferred. The 'chose not to use archive warnings' is for major character death in the violent skippable entry and it is not a real death of that character.

Summary
“Help me research,” Castiel had said, because being useful was the only kind of comfort he knew to be effective.
“I want to research…” Jack trailed off in the way he often did, young brain spinning through masses of information it wasn’t yet meant to understand. “I want to research you.”
Castiel had slowly closed the screen of his laptop, head tilted. His instant response was no. His instant response was we’re busy, I’m busy, this isn’t productive, we can do a family Q&A later. But Jack was looking at him, tired and trusting, more trusting than he had been since before Apocalypse World, and Castiel couldn't bear to let him go.
“Ask away,” Castiel had leaned back in his chair, appearing more casual than he felt, and Jack had perked up.
Castiel had expected questions about heaven, about life before Jack, about Kelly, maybe. Questions about war or sacrifice or the creation of the world or God or Lucifer. Instead, he gets:
“What’s the worst pain you’ve ever felt?”
