Chapter Text
Charles knows what is the consequences of being Ferrari driver. But this one is not on his list.
Charles can't help but keep seeing Max recent instagram updates. New Red Bull content in Brazil. Probably it was updated by his social media manager, because Max has been ignoring his message since this afternoon. Its because Charles forgets to tell him that he will fly to Brazil with Pierre. Max and Charles didn't have any written agreements about telling each other whereabouts, or telling each other schedule but ever since Charles condition got worsen. Max being extra protective of him, Charles on the other hands, feeling so much secure and safe by Max gesture. He spent his life being that big brother figure, someone who can his brother rely on ever since his Papa and Jules died. So, having someone like Max who willing to protect and take care of him like Max is something that Charles being grateful for.
The clock hit 5 P.M and Charles decided to get up from his Chair, his schedule ended awhile ago, seems like Max ignoring him and he needs to give Max some space. Charles knows he is a little bit overwhelming lately. His constant fatigue, mood swings, and the series of him forgetting this is getting worse, maybe today is the day that Max finally feel tired of him. He tried to swipe his screen and a flash of Red Bull fan beating up Ferarri fan video he saw with Joris earlier is seen. Thats crazy. Charles always knew that F1 fan is passionate, but to think that such passion and adoration could turn into violence is scary.
He closed all the windows and decided to take himself for a walk.
Maybe, Max will contact him soon.

After and endless walk. Charles reached an alleyway connected to a small space that looked like the back of restaurant. He just walk without thinking about where, he just decided to walk onto the direction of his hotels.
Everyone been asking where he is and he decided to go back to his room and maybe try to contact Max again first, he needs to stop making everyone worried, he need to prove that he is recovering, he is fine.
Charles stopped for awhile, he can see his hotels towering from the place he stands right now. Probably a couple walk straight, and hes arriving at the back of his hotels considering now he is also on the small alley looking like the back of restaurant.
He decided to push himself further to the alleyway, its getting narrow each step and he ignored it thinking that he is getting closer to the hotels.
Unfortunately, it does bring him to the back of his hotels. But it was fenced, a wall as tall as his chest and a barbed wire making it imposibble to pass. Charles shouldve known it better. His walk become pointless.
"I am so stupid." He laughs it off and decided to reroute.
He nearly reached the end of the alley when he notices there is two person standing there, maybe they work here and waiting Charles to come out because this alley only fits one person.
He cant see their faces, because its dawn and its getting dark. He couldnt care less, all he thinks about is getting into his room. Before anyone making a fuss, and doing a mass search of him.
He's getting closed to the end and he realized that one person waiting doesnt even fit. Its either he is too big or Charles is too thin.
"Excuse me—"
Charles doesn't even think. First, its shock, and then comes the pain. He felt that his glasses broke. He felt that the frame sratched his face but then he felt an extreme pain on his eye socket.
"What?—" Now Charles felt that his jaw is moving from its place from the impact. His glasses thrown away just like that.
He could hear a loud ring and echoes in his head, making the pain in his eyes is getting worse.
Charles tried to run, but he felt that his feet stuck onto something, he fell to the ground, his nose smacking a hard rough concrete and he can hear some laugh.
Charles felt that he couldnt breathe. But Run! His brain command instead, his body desperately trying to crawl but they pull Charles instead. Charles never felt such pain in his life, it feels like his jaw is moving from his face.
He tasted iron, and tried to shield his face with his hands.
"Please—HELP!"
Charles screamed the fuck out of his lungs. "..elp!" he could feel tears streaming down his face, the more he scream the more its sound incoherent.
He could hear his own heartbeat and loud ring, making the pain in his head getting bad. "Please—please stop!"
His cry for help turns into beg. And now he cant even see whats in front of him, nor where he is, he felt like his body being tosses around and all he can feel is pain pain and pain.
He tried to crawl once again, but its just make everything that is already wrong getting worst.
Now his face is facing a cold hard concrete, his face brushing with some rocks and it feels hurt as hell.
"Wha..d you wan.." Charles lets out a small whimper. Feeling that the two persons trying to pull his jacket. Another man trying to take out his watch. Charles cant even feel his body anymore, a pain now become a dull ache in his body. And by the time they stop, Charles cant even feel anything.
They nudge Charles with their feet. Laughing at Charles bruised and battered body. Not realizing how far the damage they cause to the Ferarri driver.
"Please..." Charles pleaded and trying to move his body once again. Nothing.
Only a small twitch on his fingers which he cant even control.
One of the man realizing that Charles is shivering, his body is convulsing so bad that the blood on Charles mouth is flowing towards the concrete.
"Shit!," one of them realize that the damage has been done. And they started to blame eachother.
Charles body is now a mess. Convulsing and spasming. Charles is trying to scream, and asking for help but instead its coming out as a whimper and incoherent voice.
The seizure stop. Everything fell silent and the ringing on Charles heads now changing onto a white noise, a long beep that seems too familiar. Now all he can feel is pain. An overwhelming one that he cant event breathe and start gasping for air, but he is drowning in his own blood.
He tried to scream, but its just making his body convulsing again.
He saw the sun setting from afar. His body is pressed onto the concrete, and he can see his blood pooling in front of his face.
Charles eyes felt heavy. He felt so tired and he is finally letting darkness invade his body.
