Chapter 2: Addendum

Summary:

Jason finds the poem.

Notes:

This one is a bit of a different style, though still kind of a poem.

Chapter Text

Jason looked up from the note.

"Who wrote this?" He asked darkly, "and why?"

The wind blew coldly, bearing no clear reply.

The letter's handwriting was unrecognizable, and even the ink looked like nothing he'd seen. The poem haunted him with shimmering letters of a deep, rich emerald green.

Who could have known him so thoroughly and still chosen to do such a thing? They knew of his secrets and all of his pain and chose to put it down on a page.

The wind blew once more, but he closed his door, bringing the poem inside. He held the delicate paper close to his chest and quietly, softly sighed.

For some reason, his heart felt warmed by this blatantly stalkerish note. It meant someone had known him and cared enough to show him, shared with him what they wrote.

Far away, on that very day, a mysterious character smiled. They tilted their hat in salute to a bat who would surely be there for a while.

"Family may not be everything, dear," they said to the shadowy figure. "But I believe that those who give love should have it returned tenfold." They let their listener consider.

"I can't make you do a thing, all I can give is advice, but I hope that you heed my words." With that they left, with a whoosh and a snap, and with them, so did the birds.

Thank you for reading my cringe poetry! I'm sure I'll regret posting this in a few years :D

Edit: It was still way too hard to tag this :')
