LOLOLOL this is gonna be so unserious for a ‘final remarks’ or ‘acknowledgements’ or whatever you wanna call it, truth be told I actually just have SO much to say (naturally I mean I just wrote a 40k word fanfic what).
Okay so wow where to start…
If you go to my profile you will notice that this is the Longest fic I have ever written- every other work has been like 2 chapters max, with like 4k words on the longer side, so naturally, this is like, WAY more than that and needless to say I am VERY proud of myself for being able to make it this far 😛
Moving on, in terms of Star Shopping, obviously it’s named after the amazing song by Lil Peep (RIP), get it, cuz like it starts with them shopping and then ends with them stargazing ahahahaha I’m so cool and funny-
Just kidding, the REALITY ! is that i had no idea where this fic was headed when I first started- the ‘star shopping’ title was really only supposed to be for the first chapter, because yeah, they go shopping (I am very creative). Practically all the chapter titles are based off of songs, and they're compiled in one amazing playlist that I've posted a link for below (makes the reading/writing experience five trillion times better i promise <3).
ANOTHER THING I WANTED TO NOTE !!!!! Surprisingly, believe it or not, this fic was NOT !! supposed to have a happy ending !! I’m so nice, I know lololol ok but really, I gave it a happy ending anyways because I felt bad and like, please, I love LeoVil so much, but in reality, the truth is, I don’t think that Leona and Vil in canon would ever work out long term. I’ve said this many times to many different people, but Leovil honestly give ‘divorcees that kinda still have the hots for each other’- they are kinda just inherently incompatible unless they actually communicate and settle their differences yadayada, which, I respect, would never happen in canon (unless..?)
The reason it wasn’t supposed to have a happy ending is because, as many people pointed out, I make it my duty to make my characters AS canonically accurate and IN character as possible. It took SO !! much research to accomplish this, to the point where I had to read practically EVERY characters card Vignettes to understand their personality and the way they interact with other characters- I was NOT going to play around with Disney’s characters as if they were my own, especially because I get pissed off when I see other writers do it, like excuse me? That is not something they would say or do…(ya get me?)
Ok, on a similar wavelength, you guys probably noticed (because I make it pretty clear), but a LOT of occurrences in this fic are based off of real Twisted Wonderland events, the largest, for instance, is the Beauty and the Beast performance, which I based off of both, the Fairy Gala, and the Song & Dance Championship, and of course, at the end, I included a sort of spinoff of the Starsending event.
I did this because it made it easier to write, cuz i was like YEAH this WOULD HAPPEN !!! and ALSO !! because the fic just kinda happened to write itself, and some of my own ideas would just end up being really similar to stuff that happens in canon lol.
Wow thats a lot of text^^ is anyone even reading this? WELP BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU READERS !!! I loved reading yalls comments, especially those from my OG’s- I would @ yalls if I could, but I promise, the paragraph long comments I get MAKE MY DAY constantly and I go back and read them ALL the time- its thanks to you guys that I was able to make it this far, especially since I have NO !! active TWST friends to talk to, so at times, I felt so confused and alone while writing lol, I’d turn to my random friends and my sister for inspiration and it was lowkey very difficult here and there BUT ANYWAYS one last thing to note is that there are TWO plot points that I included for a purpose.
- Sebek being the reason Malleus misses the performance.
I did this because I hate him >:p and also because of course, who else is stupid enough to be the reason for Malleus getting left out yet again
- Epel enduring the wrath of a very uptight, overprotective Vil.
This of course happens in canon, and it makes me kinda sad, cuz Vil is my favourite character and for how much of an amazingly well rounded and incredible person he is, it doesn’t make sense to me that he would let his ‘nagging’ come to the point where he just comes off as overbearing. I used Leona’s laid back personality to foil that in the last chapter and kind of open Vil’s eyes. Lol the reason I’m mentioning this is because people feel bad for Epel a lot in this fic, but don’t worry it’s not because I hate him, it’s because I’m tryna highlight something (anyways I love my Pomefiore family trio)
LASTLY !!! I wanted to note the subtle Ruggie x Rook that is inevitably scattered amongst the fic. Truth be told I DON’T SHIP IT AT ALL LOLOL- I personally think they’re a fun duo and they’re both clowns so like I like to fool around with them- I purposely made them subtle because I know some people do ship it, which I wholeheartedly respect (better than Ruggie x Leona cuz bruh pls hes 16 and Leonas 20…) But yeah, if you want to see them as a ship (Rook x Ruggie, i mean) then be our guest (GET IT LOL CUZ HE WAS LUMIERE AND- ok mb) or don’t, thats cool too ♡
