entangled in the mistletoe

Chapter Text

The abrupt ringing of Midoriya's phone shattered the moment, and Bakugo couldn't hold back his frustration; he screamed in pure irritation.

He pulled back from Midoriya, his eyes blazing with anger as he glared at the phone as if it had personally offended him.

"What the hell?! Who's calling you right now, damn Deku?!!" he bellowed, his fingers curling into fists.

Midoriya sheepishly fished out his phone, the light blush still present on his face.

“Ah... It’s All Might... I forgot he was coming to the dorms...” Midoriya chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck; a habit he always finds himself doing when he’s nervous.

Bakugo wanted to explode something (preferably the annoying phone). He was so close to finally kissing Midoriya, and now All Might was interrupting?! Ugh.

He gritted his teeth, the irritation obvious on his face.

"Seriously, nerd? Out of all times, he has to call now?" he growled, glaring at Midoriya as if this was all his fault.

“That’s not my fault...! And I have to go and meet him downstairs...” Midoriya muttered.

“Alright... whatever.” Bakugo rolled his eyes and grumbled as Midoriya bolted downstairs.

As Midoriya bolted down the stairs to meet All Might, Bakugo was left feeling frustrated and disappointed. His moment with Midoriya had been ruined, and he was left alone, his mind racing with thoughts of what could have been.

He flopped down onto his bed with a sigh, running his fingers through his hair as he tried to get the image of Midoriya's flushed face and soft moans out of his head. Damnit.

He shook his head, finally getting up and going downstairs.

“All might!”

“Young Midoriya! My boy!” All Might affectionately ruffled his hair, grinning at him.

"All Might, it's so good to see you!" Midoriya said sincerely, unable to contain his happiness.

All Might chuckled. "It's good to see you too, my boy. I've missed you."

Many of Midoriya’s classmates cooed at the sincere, cute interaction. Aizawa folded his arms and rolled his eyes fondly as he watched them, a hint of a smile on his face.

All Might placed a hand on Midoriya's shoulder.

“You're looking well, my boy. I'm proud of all the progress you've made; make sure you take today as a rest day!” he said, his voice filled with genuine care.

Midoriya beamed at the praise from All Might, his chest swelling with pride. He always strived to live up to his mentor's expectations, and hearing the words "I'm proud of you" from All Might always meant the world to him.

After a while of them chatting, Aizawa cleared his throat. “Midoriya. Could you quickly go and grab Eri a few cookies? She’s sulking right now.”

Midoriya glanced over at Aizawa and Eri on the couch, and Eri’s cute pout as she crossed her arms. He chuckled softly.

“I think she’s a bit upset she couldn’t spend more time with you, Midoriya.” Aizawa leaned back on the couch, a small teasing smile on his lips as Eri blushed a light pink.

Midoriya cooed at the adorable expression on her face. He rushed over to her, grabbing her hand carefully, and grinning widely.

“Come on Eri! Let’s decorate some cookies together!” He winked at her before they both giggled as they disappeared into the kitchen.

Midoriya’s classmates watched as the pair ran off into the kitchen. Many sighed, either giving up on trying to get Midoriya under the mistletoe or being too shy to even try.

...That was until Todoroki stood up, a look of determination shining in his eyes. Many raised an eyebrow at his sudden movement.

“Uhh... What’s wrong, Todoroki?”

“I have to try again.” Todoroki marched to the doorway that Midoriya and Eri had just walked through to get to the kitchen and carefully tied the mistletoe.

Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed deeply.

“Guys. It’s not going to work. This is embarrassing. Just stop. It’s getting harder and harder to watch.” Aizawa mumbled.

Todoroki, along with a few others simply glared at him before turning back to the mistletoe.

They watched in anticipation as Midoriya giggled, the cute sound getting louder as he walked closer to the doorway.

The sound of Midoriya's laughter filled the room, the sweet, cheerful melody making everyone's hearts warm.

As he walked closer to the doorway, the laughter grew louder, and the group's anticipation grew more intense.

Midoriya suddenly opened the door, and froze as he heard a collective “DON’T MOVE!”.

He paused, his eyes widening in surprise, as he took in the sight in front of him. All his classmates were staring intently at something above his head, their expressions a mix of excitement and anticipation.

Confused, Midoriya slowly looked up to where they were looking... and his heart skipped a beat.

Midoriya's heart skipped a beat as his eyes landed on the mistletoe. Its bright red berries and green leaves hung innocently above the doorway, clearly placed there on purpose.

A wave of realization and surprise washed over him, and heat rose to his cheeks as he looked back at his classmates. They were all staring at him, their gazes expectant, and some had even started to smirk.

Multiple people rushed forward towards Midoriya, all their eyes dark with fierce determination, and all after the same thing. Midoriya feet were planted to the ground, frozen.

But that’s when Eri appeared next to Midoriya in the doorway.

All the classmates who had rushed forward suddenly groaned in disappointment as Eri appeared beside Midoriya.

The excited and determined looks on their faces quickly turned into expressions of disappointment as they came to terms with the fact that their plan had failed again. Some of them grumbled in annoyance.

Midoriya couldn't hold in his laughter any longer and doubled over, his shoulders shaking with mirth. The sight of all his classmates groaning in disappointment was just too much for him.

He tried to speak, but his words were overshadowed by his own uncontrollable giggles. Aizawa hid his amused laughter in the capture weapon on his shoulders.

He flashed a teasing smirk at them all before crouching down and placing a short, sweet kiss on Eri’s cheek; he watched as Eri giggled and mirrored his actions, going on her tiptoes to give him a kiss on the cheek of her own.

His smirk grew wider as he noticed the jealous and annoyed looks on their faces. He knew he had just stolen their chance again, and it was driving them crazy.

He playfully stuck his tongue out, laughing even harder as his classmates visibly deflated.

Notes:

i debated if i should add in an actual kiss but i ended up not doing one and idk if that was a good choice or not
