Chapter Text
After consulting with her family (or at least a framed picture of them), Kelly realized they would want her to be happy. So, she told her nurse that she was ready for the rest of it. She made arrangements to pass over, and returned to her beach house, where she hoped Yorkie would be waiting. Instead she found Wes.
"What are you doing here?" she asked "I thought I made my feelings clear to you"
"You did, but that's not why I'm here. I was just wondering if you and the British girl ever caught up to each other"
"She's not British, and we did. But we had a bit of a fight. I was trying to find her so we could make up"
"Well, I'm pretty sure I know where she is" Wes revealed
"Okay, lead the way..."
Wes thought about it for a moment, but then said "Wait, I have a better idea."
Kelly trusted Wes, and was so keen to see Yorkie again, she didn't need to think about it too much.
Wes found Yorkie sitting with some nerd at Tuckers. He decided not to waste anytime.
"Its Yorkie, right? Kelly is waiting for you at the beach house"
"Really?" Yorkie was momentarily, so overwhelmed with emotions that she froze.
"Yes, now what are you sitting around here for? get going, now, now, now!" Wes said, excitedly.
Yorkie composed herself as she walked out of Tuckers, tossing aside her glasses, again, got into her car, drove up to the beach house, and honked her horn. Sure enough, Kelly was standing there, waiting for her, as beautiful as the moment they had first met.
Wes sat down in the seat Yorkie had been sitting in, and said "Hey, nerd"
"I have a name you know" Davis retorted
"I'm sure you do. Anyway, wanna witness a happy ending, and experience some compersion?"
"What's that?"
"When you feel happy for someone you love, because they found love with someone else"
"Oh yeah, I guess I could do that"
At that moment, they looked up, as Kelly and Yorkie walked in the door, just as Heaven is a Place on Earth began playing, and they shared a dance. After the song was over, they walked over to the booth, and found Wes and Davis.
"Oh hey, what brings you two here?" Kelly asked
"We're just here to witness a happy ending" Wes replied
"And to experience compersion" Davis added
"I don't know what that is" Kelly admitted
"Its the vicarious joy experienced when someone one loves find love with another person" Yorkie explained, as if she was reading from a dictionary. As she did so, she looked into Davis' puppy dog eyes, and realized she had found a true friend.
"I think its just great that you two found each other. I don't think I've met a gay person before, let alone two" Davis said, with a combination of confusion and sincerity.
"Well, maybe you have, but just didn't realize it" Yorkie offered
"Also, not gay, bi" Kelly added, which confused Davis. Wes mouthed the words men and women to him.
At that moment, another song, Simply Irresistible, by Robert Palmer came on, prompting Kelly to wrap up the conversation.
"Talk later, dance now" Kelly demanded
"What, all of us?" Wes asked
"Sure, why not?" Kelly replied
"Well, you're a married woman. I hope you're not trying to start some sort of menage-a-trios, or whatever four is in French?" Wes asked, with faux innocence, as the four of them began dancing together. This prompted a look of confusion from Davis, and mild embarrassment from Yorkie.
"Of course not, I am, as you said, a married woman. But sometimes dancing is just dancing. Get your mind out of the gutter" Kelly shot back.
However, as the song went on, Kelly's true motivations revealed themselves. She subtly, but effectively, pushed the boys into the orbit of two attractive women she had noticed on the dance floor. They didn't notice, but Yorkie did, prompting a glare. Kelly just winked back at her, as if to say trust me.
Eventually, Wes and Davis left with the women Kelly had pushed them towards. After which, Yorkie and Kelly also left, and finally got around to consummating their marriage.
Another Afterlife
Kelly's Husband Richard, and Daughter, Allison, had been watching Kelly since their deaths. All of a sudden, they turned bright red. Richard put his hand in front of Alison's eyes. But then decided it would be better for them to both turn around.
"We don't need to see this part" Richard said
"Dad, did you know about this?" Alison asked.
"Of course, your mother and I had no secrets from each other"
"Really? And you never had a problem with it?"
"No. Why do you ask? Did you…?" Richard trailed off
"What? You didn't think I notice the way she looked at women, heck the way you both did, together"
"Young lady, you really need to..." Richard began, before being cut off.
"Be happy for mom? Yeah, I couldn't agree more" and they both smiled at each other.
