Summary
This is the second story in my Kelly and Yorkie trilogy. Although, I had this idea first. I was motivated by a few things. First off, a number of Black Mirror episodes have endings that feel, emotionally unsatisfying (e.g. White Christmas, White Bear) and I wanted to further elaborate on them. Secondly, I felt that (like many viewers), eventually Kelly and Yorkie would grow bored of their digital paradise, and want a bigger adventure, that I could provide. It would need a villain, which is where Robert Daly came in. I thought Nish from Black Museum could be an effective foil for him, given she's young and extremely tech savvy. So much so, that I wrote her as the only character that could split her consciousness and attention between the real and virtual worlds.
Finally, I wanted to put my own, somewhat more positive spin on the show's social commentary. Including the idea of AIs as an oppressed group. I really hope you enjoy it. It will not be my last Black Mirror story.
