Chapter Text

Kaveh rubbed his temples with his eyes shut. Al Haitham has taken a seat on the couch with his leg crossed reading a book. Tighnari sat at the other end of the couch with his hands in his lap with his tail resting on top.

Cyno leaned against the couch with his arms crossed.

“So let me get this straight.” Kaveh dropped both his arms and extended them in front of him.

“You guys are exs. That broke up years ago. And then I happen to be like ‘Oh you guys should get to know each other’ and no one told me!”

Tighnari’s ear drooped downward more. “Kaveh….”

Al Hathaim turned a pages in his book, “I would defend them and say they didn't have a chance to tell you. That'd be wrong, there was plenty of chances but probably no ‘good’ ones.”

Kaveh threw his arms, “Any of you could have told me at any time! It would been better from Tighnari or Cyno but still!”

Cyno pushed up from the couch to stand straighter, “Kaveh, we've been wanting to tell you.”

Kaveh huffed, “But no one did!”

“Kaveh..”

“I can't be with any of you guys right now! I can't believe it!” He stalked off to the front door, throwing it open and quickly leaving. Slamming it behind him. Tighnari flinched at the loud sounds.

Al Haitham sighed, “Don't worry he'll be back.”

Cyno looked at him, “how do you know that.”

Al Hathaim held up the keys to the vehicle, “He can't go far without me. It's too long of a walk home and he doesn't have money for a lift.”

Tighnari sighed, “Probably should have told him sooner.”

Al Haitham lowered his hand and looked up, “Yes. yes you should have. But what's done is done. It's Kaveh. He's going to be dramatic regardless since you didn't tell him the first time we all got together.”

“I don't blame him for being upset.”

“Neither do I. But what's done is done. Just give him time to cool off.”

Tighnari’s ear twitched. He was trying to listen to Kaveh. He didn't hear yelling or anything being thrown, but a sniffle. Was he crying? Tighnari stood up and made his way to the door. Al Hathaim turned a page in his book, “Good luck.”

Cyno pushed up from his spot of leaning on the couch. Tighnari put a hand up to stop him. “Let me.”

Cyno turned his head slightly confused, “You sure? What if…”

Tighnari shook his head, “It's Kaveh. I'll be fine. Besides, it's best to not overwhelm him with both of us.”

Cyno sighed in defeat and went to sit on the couch. He pulled out his deck of Genius Inovaktion TCG cards and started sorting through them. Tighnari sighed and turn back to the door. He opened it and pushed through to see Kaveh trying to silently cry to himself. Once it was shut behind him, he slowly sat down by the blonde haired male.

“I tried to be quiet but I forgot about your hearing.” Kaveh turned his head and looked at Tighnari’s ears resting on top of his head. Tighnari moved his tail and sat it on Kaveh’s lap. Kaveh started running his fingers through it slowly.

“Look Kaveh. You don't have to forgive me or any of us, but I'm truly sorry. I wanted to tell you but the initial shock of seeing my ex again, it kinda clouded my judgement.”

Kaveh looked down at his hands, “ I would never want to make you face your ex and make you uncomfortable. I would have understood if you walked away or something.”

Tighnari sighed, “The thing is, Cyno never made me truly feel uncomfortable. He was great to me when we were together. He just had a bad drinking problem that he developed in college that stuck with him. That was my only complaint. We broke up because of that. No super hard feelings.”

Kaveh sniffed, “You did tell me of your ex's once. And mentioned there's one you won't speak horrible of cause he wasn't bad. I assume that was him.”

Tighnari nodded, “Yes. That was him. I honestly thought I was going to marry him back then. But I couldn't get past the drinking. And he chose drinking over spending our anniversary together. I had enough. I hoped he would change. If not me, for his future.”

“It seems like he did. He never drank in front of me and Al Hathiam, even when we were drinking. Down right refusing to with every ounce of peer pressure. He always claimed drinking made him lose the best thing in his life.”

Tighnari sucked in his breath. He knew that was him.

“Hey Kaveh.”

Kaveh looked at Tighnari.

“Don't think of it as a bad thing.” Tighnari brought his legs to his chest and wrapped his arms around his legs. “I missed Cyno a lot. And I believe I still loved him. And seeing him again. It felt like a breath of fresh air I haven't had in a while. He was always so patient with me especially when I had my panic attacks. The guys I tried to date afterwards, never cared or hell even made fun of me.” He sighed. “So thank you. For bringing him back into my life.”

Kaveh, sighed. “I don't forgive you, you know.”

He shifted and bit and put an arm around Tighnari. “But I can't stay mad at you.” He smiled at the hybrid.

Tighnari smiled.

“So are you guys dating again, or what?”

“I don't think so. Yet anyway. I wouldn't mind it though. I don't think we are going to get married anytime soon.”

“Oh come on! You said you wanted to marry him then!”

Tighnari chuckled, “A lot has changed and happened since then. I'd rather figure that out first and fall back into everything before marriage.”

Kaveh laughed, “I bet if you asked him to prove his love and marry you he would.”

Tighnari rolled his eyes, “Yeah, he probably would.”

Kaveh and Tighnari laughed. The hybrid bumped his body into Kaveh, “Come on, we probably should eat before the food gets cold.”

Kaveh nodded and both males stood up. They went back inside and Cyno’s head popped up quickly.

Kaveh gave a big exaggerated sigh. “I still hate you guys, especially for not telling me. But, I could never not love you guys.” He smiled.

Tighnari slipped an arm around Kaveh and gave him a tight one armed squeeze.

“Now can we eat before the food gets colder?” Al Haitham sat his book down on the arm of the chair and reached down to the bag beside him. He handed it up to Cyno.

Cyno opened the bag and spread out the food on the table in front of him.

Tighnari took a seat back on the couch with Kaveh beside him. Cyno pulled up a chair to be on the hybrid's other side. “I'll take this over a noisy bar any day!”

They all nodded in agreement. Cyno turned the tv on to a movie they all agreed on.

Tighnari felt relieved now that everything was out. Kaveh knew. Him and Cyno sort of talked. At least started the conversation. They can finish it later. He felt at peace. And truthfully, that feeling hasn't been present in his life for quite awhile.

Kaveh

Kaveh leaned back and looked over at Tighnari and Cyno. Tighnari had laid his head off to the side towards Cyno. Cyno had lifted his hand up and was running his fingers through the black and teal hair gently. Kaveh had wished he knew the truth sooner but he is honestly happy to see Tighnari at peace. He hasn't seen this level of peace in the hybrid in ages.

The years he has known him. He truly never spoke ill of one of his ex's. Just admitted he had a drinking problem but never abused him. He can see why clearly. He never stopped loving the other male. And the other never stopped loving him.

Kaveh met Cyno not that long ago when he and Al Haitham were out at dinner. He met Tighnari while he did work on the old research lab.

Al Hathiam reached over and grabbed Kaveh’s hand and squeezed it. A silent gesture of reassurance.

The Next Day

Tighnari

Tighnari slowly opened his eyes. The fuzziness of the room slowly becomes clearer. Wait this isn't home.

He slowly sat up and blinked a few times. Panic building in his chest.

Someone stirred beside him. He turned his head down and saw a pile of white hair. Cyno. Oh yeah. I stayed the night. Archons a lot happened.

He slowly laid back down. Arms found their way back around him and pulled him closer to the body next to him. Warmth radiated between them. It was comforting. Tighnari finally felt at home.

6 Months Later

“Soooooooo, when are we getting married?”

Tighnari smacked Cyno on the shoulder.

He pouts.

“I told you. Ask me on one knee after a year!” Tighnari smiled.

“Why do I have to wait so long?” Cyno rubbed his shoulder and pretended to look hurt. It was easy if you didn't know him but Tighnari could see the playfulness in his eyes.

Cyno picked up a box and headed into the apartment. They were finally moving in together again. Into Tighnari’s cozy home. It was bigger than Cyno’s place. And Cyno had a lot less items to move. He didn't mind.

Tighnari went to grab a box and followed the other male in. This honestly could have happened months ago. They have been pretty inseparable. Always staying at each other's place. “Collei called the other day btw. She is going to try to see if her friend Amber can give her a ride over here soon to have dinner with us. She missed you and seemed to be excited when I said we were moving in together.”

Cyno perked up. “Oh! I can see how her Genius Invokation TCG skill improved.”

Tighnari shook his head, “Of course you would.”

Cyno laughed.

Tighnari looked at him and smiled. Truth be told. He jokes about Cyno asking him to marry him after being back together for a year. And he knows Cyno is going to ask on the date. But Tighnari has other things in mind.

Last week he went alone to a jewelry store to look at rings. He has one picked out he is working on acquiring. It'll be harder now with Cyno living under his roof, but he'll figure it out.

So the plan is to ask Cyno first. Probably in a month or two. Or if he is feeling petty. Asked him the day before the getting back together anniversary.

Tighnari chuckled to himself at the thought. Cyno turned back around and gave him a confused look. Tighnari shook his head and continued forward.

Life felt normal again. Like the break never happened.

They both put the boxes down. Cyno streched. “That's the last one. Now I just need to drop my keys off.”

Tighnari leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the others lips.

Cyno dropped his hands onto Tighnari's waist. “But that can wait until tomorrow?” He smiled and pulled him into another kiss.

Notes:

Im super sorry it took so long! I had started this chapter right after posting the other then someone in my family passed right before Christmas. (And the chapter prior a family memeber passed as well). It's been hectic lol.

I just power wrote the last like 1/2 so if it's got typos, (just let me know I'll fix them.) ignore them lol.

Thank you for those who stuck through to the end. <3

(Potentially bonus chapter of the proposals.)

Notes:

Now let hope I can keep up on this. Lol.
As of right now I don't think the rating will change but I'm also unsure if I will stick to that.
