Chapter 124: Figments: Fruiting Tree

Chapter Text

I have begged -
Begged -
Begged for your love.
The fruiting tree that refuses me.
Leaves the land of my heart,
Curdling and screaming.
A place where no seed grows,
Because of the winds,
The eternal winter in my mouth.
There's anger in my teeth,
That brutalises any wayward weed.
There will be no softness,
No gentleness in me.
The wind rages, relentless,
And I carry the cold of it in my heart.
And anything that has grown
-something accidentally thrown-
Is scraggly, gnarled, alone.
The black, burbling sludge you spit,
Nurtures nothing but spite.
Shows me no care, but hands me a knife.
And it is the feral ferocity in me,
That will rend me.
My grave will grow sunflowers,
And winter will end with me.
