Trust Like a Waning Moon

Chapter 23: Out of Control

Notes:

I'm so tired of this story. Not because I dislike it, but I grow tired of this format. I'll try to finish it out anyway, but it may affect story quality. I'm sorry.

Chapter Text

Keigo was having a bad day. A bad week. A bad month, even. He hadn't heard anything from the League since Dabi had burned down Jakku General Hospital, and the Commission was beginning to get on him about it.

As though there wasn't still plenty to deal with already. As though the League hadn't thrown the man who made their Nomu, what had really made them so dangerous, to the damn wolves. Why weren't they focusing on that more? They had their guy, wasn't that enough for now?

Keigo was so tired. He couldn't remember ever not being tired. He was constantly running himself ragged for the Commission, doing more and more, trying to earn even a few minutes of free time only to be given more work, every time.

Why couldn't it ever be enough? Why couldn't he ever be enough?

He wished the League would contact him again soon. At least with them, sometimes, the world would slow.
