“Illuga, I don’t think you need to wear the nails anymore.” His father starts one day as they were eating dinner, placing his fork to the side of his plate. “Or placing salt on the windowsill, and you can take down the horseshoe by your door.”
“I thought the nails were for The Wild Hunt.”
“It turned out to be a bit more of a hassle when—er—Rolf scratched himself with it.”
“Oh dear…is he alright?”
“Nothing major—just—take off all of that stuff.”

Summary
There is a sudden knock on the door. It startles her, and hot tea sloshes over the rim of her cup, splashing across the corner of her documents. She scrambles to save the papers. There is a polite wait before the second knock raps on the door.
“Enter!” Ekaterina calls, shaking out the papers to dry. The door creaks open, and in pops the unruliest shock of orange hair that Ekaterina has ever seen.

Summary
By the end of the night, Zhongli will be dead. He isn’t quite yet, obviously, but he can feel the end of this life come ever closer as the clock on the wall ticks closer to midnight by the second. The light in the funeral parlor is low, bathing everything in a warm yellow glow. It is a kindness—it makes the corpse in the open casket look more peaceful somehow.
Zhongli wonders if that is how he will look at his funeral. Arms neatly arranged to seem more lifelike than an untreated corpse would allow—rigor mortis is a stiff, unmoving master. Zhongli had wanted to finish up working on it, but… It’s time.
With a small smile on his face, he rids himself of his overcoat, loosens his collar and then… dies with a gentle sigh.
The warm light slides over his skin as it ripples and changes. His limbs become slender, his hips rounder, his clothing creasing as he becomes shorter. His hair becomes fuller and darker and his chest fills out. When she looks in the mirror, she clicks her tongue. Makes her nose a little longer, her eyes a little lighter, her lips thinner. When a stranger looks back at her in the mirror, she smiles.
A face without a name. A face without burdens. She has none just yet.

After a rather busy day of scrapping with the Wild Hunt, deflecting a cannon beam, and depleting the rest of his weekly allocation of chit-chats, the Lightkeeper of the Final Night Cemetery hopes to find a moment of tranquility to clear his mind.
A certain someone unfortunately had something else in mind, tonight.
(Rerir gets the drop on Flins, bad things happen. Character introspection and filling in some blanks after 6.0 with some personal interpretations and tidbits.)
